Default Porsche camping..

Just thought I would share some quick pictures I took from camping this past week end. Everything fit nicely in the car although it took some strategic "Tetris" skills to make it all fit efficiently. Stayed one night up North in the woods and had a blast driving throuh some twisty roads. I got the scare of my life coming into a corner too fast with the crappy Michelin Pilot Sport all seasons I have on the car now but luckily learnt my lesson without panicking and stayed on course.

Anyone else pack up their 993 and head out camping?

Car cover at night and a tarp over the car so falling ashes from the campfire wouldn't land on the paint...worked well!

Bringing groceries back with no room...gf just thrilled to have me taking a picture of the food wedged around her.

Not me, but I bet others have. What do you mean no room? There was more room on top of that case of water for a 12 pack of beer You were being nice!

You get a star for that. I can't fit what we need to go camping in a van stuffed to the ceiling. Lets just say I havn't mastered 'primitive' camping yet... one day I'd like to though.

Great shots!

Took the 993 to Big Basin for an overnight trip a couple of years ago. Great roads in the Santa Cruz mountains! Another friend joined in an E30 BMW and he brought all of the passengers & the gear!!

Well, sort of. I took my car up to Traverse City for the Porsche Parade. In the backround is our camping setup. Also,my daughter and my neice enjoying the ride as we moved to a new campsite.

Your adventure looks much more authentic from the Porsche point of view!
Great pics.

Back before track days became F1-lite around the paddock, many of us pitched a tent next to our cars for the weekend.

Great to see you enjoy the car everywhere!

I used to go on super-primitive camping trips around Italy with my Girlfriend in my boxster year after year, but I haven't had one decent camping-trip with the 993 yet! These pictures reminds me how great it is to just get off the grid with just the bare necessities. Looks like good times. And your car looks pretty fantastic too!!

You can pack a whole lot more gear in the 993 than my buddy can in his F355 Spider!!
