My son found a stack of 33s on a sidewalk a brought them home a few months ago. Some great stuff, Zeppelin, Yes, Genesis, all my kind of stuff.
Shows them to me, and asks if we have anything to play them on....
Actually we still have a Technics turntable still. Not sure if it works or not, hasn't been used in probably 25 years.

It looks like you were missing your tire storage bag as well, fortunately it wasn't raining as I keep a couple of hefty trash bags just in case! I'm glad they can fix you up at FD Motorsport!
You missed a great weekly car gathering Saturday morning.

Sadly, I had to advise a 993 owner only today about the importance of proper, accurate adjustment. A local to the owner "30 year Porsche experienced" mechanic stated it wasn't even necessary to check if everything else was in spec. Uh huh.

Or K-toe................ Hard to believe it's almost 20 years since we first had those "what the hell is going on" moments.

Day 8: San Frsncisco: 0 miles
Today was by all accounts very good. Home-roasted coffee and crepes to start off.
My appointment at FD Motorsports in Brentwood was at 10. I limped the car out there and arranged for my friend to meet me there to get a ride back to Oakland. The 50 miles was uneventful.
In the Porsche owner's manual, it instructs you to put on the spare and ride to the next exit to fix your tire. The next exit for me turned out to be 400 miles later.
I do not endorse this but now you know that some idiot(myself) did around 400 hundred hot, demanding miles on the spare donut. A little torture testing for your benefit.
Darin and Mark were very welcoming. We talked tires, ordered a set, looked at the drop link that needed to be replaced and confirmed that I wanted Stage IIIs and tips. Sweet!
I will return Wednesday to pick it up and get back on the road. My ride rolled up and we set back out in the scorching heat. We rode in style but I cannot say comfort.
The Morgan plus 4 made my 911 seem like a luxury limo. Hot and bouncy but fun like a motorcycle.
We heard some strange belt noises so we investigated before hitting the highway.
The rest of the day was filled with a little sight seeing, pizza, record shopping and dinner with friends.
We went by a few places that were cool. The Bus Lab was the highlight. Seriously, I want one. A Westy preferably. I'd take the 914 in a pinch.
Then we drove to Fantasy Junction to check out the awesome cars for sale. They were all too cheap so I decided not to buy anything
We passed by Easy, a Porsche dismantler. A big contrast to Fantasy Junction.
The rest of the day was vacation-like and I soaked it in. Tomorrow, off to Amoeba Records.

Great posts Michael. It was great meeting you in person. The sledge hammer came in very handy for working on your car
We will have her up and running in no time.

Damn. I missed out! I need to check every thread on Rennlist every day. This pic in Ogden was taken about five miles from where I work and about four miles from my friend's shop, RSR Motorsports, where those belts could have been changed in a wink. Sorry I missed buying you some beers on 25th Street. It's not usually so HOT here.
How are you going back; I40, I70, I80? There are some beautiful driving roads in So Utah but right now they're hitting 110+ (degrees not mph). If you get near SLC I'll buy dinner for not being there for you on the way out.
