Neil is polishing the car in stages: first by breaking the skin of the clearcoat by flatting with 1200/1500/2000, leave the paint to breathe off for a couple of weeks followed by machine polishing with the usual G3 range of compounds.
We did manage to polish the seat backs though because the seats have to be away for trimming next week.

With customer work completed Neil is back on the job finish polishing the body and parts. The finish is like float glass and the colour looks beautiful. I slowed my shutter speed right down to make it look like Neil is moving faster than usual.....

I'm sure you to cover all these issues on some kind of checklist and I do not mean to insult, but I have to ask, do you reinforce the door check strap prior to paint? BTW - It looks incredible.

Colin, great job as usual. I have a question, when you paint your calipers, it looks like they are just painted and not powdercoated. Does that hold up under some track time sufficiently? Were they PC or just painted from the factory? Thanks.

To get the finish we like the calipers are painted with 2-pack basecoat and laquer. This finish is fine for road use and occasional track, however under hard track use the colour will brown. That said, my standard factory 993RS Brembo calipers turned brown very quickly when I learned how to brake late.....

Very pleased to see my regular boys joining back in with the fun.
Marc is slowly (!) organising the assembly area and I do believe it's starting to look more like a Speedster now as well.

Slow progress at the moment, mainly due to original parts organisation and availability of the new parts we need. We've been through all the parts we have, ordered the new ones we need which are slowly coming through from Porsche, hence we can currently only assemble the sections of the car which we have everything available for. Marc has fitted the headlight brackets, taking the trouble to adjust and tighten them in place for an exact fit whilst access is available from under the wings. Headlight washer delete as RS will give the front end a much cleaner look.
The interior has new sound deadening pads installed and is now waiting on the new carpet set which is on order. The sound pads have to be replaced as they are simply impossible to remove in one piece from the donor car due to the unbelievable impact glue used by the factory, the pads simply rip to pieces when you pull them away from the body.
