Recommendations regarding a half-/roll-cage in a 993?

Here's my half cage. With every cage, there are priorities depending on how you use your car. I decided on a setup that I think will work well for my uses, but may not be for everyone. My priorities:
1) The obvious: safety, stiffness, and light weight
- 4-pts welded securely to unibody rails with formed 3/16" plates, secure harness bar (within the recommended distance from the seatbacks as well as harness angle)
- Top corners of main hoop are welded to roof rails with a small 3/16" plate
2) Minimal encroachment on rear visibility and front interior space
- No shock tower diagonal (compromise decision on weight, visibility, and my needs)
- Main hoop diagonals have ~35 degree bend at base a la GT3RS to allow for more space behind front seats
3) Aesthetics
- Main hoop matches angle of b-pillar
- Tubes fitted such that all interior panels will remain and main hoop goes behind rear interior quarter panels (fabric and structure cut to surround hoop, hoop enters panel near 3-pt belt slot)
- Painted satin dark silver metallic
Sorry, under construction photos only right now. It will look much nicer once the interior is back together. Pardon the filler dust; it's left over from the roof replacement and rain gutter removal. Still have to get the carpet goo out... ew

How easy/hard is it to get the hoop in? Can you do it with the seats in, once installed the first time? I'm looking for a solution that is easily in/out since I track the car, but then de-track for family use.

Guys great work!
You're also looking for the aesthetics, which came out great!
So its clear that it is important that you don't order at Heigo direct coz it seems they manufacture and ship asap to retailer but screw direct orders. My friend ordered direct and got after 6 month a RHD rollbar (in Germany) and they excused in all directions, not willing to change anything.
@JPS
it should be more or less impossible to remove the bar without seat removal. main problem would be the screw for the lower bar end (seat belt bolt)

You cant remove the hoop easily without the seats but you can leave the hoop in place and use thee rear seats as its out of the way.
Holger. I agree with you about Heigo - bitch to deal with direct. My roll bar is the one for the sunroof version and it fits much closer to the headliner than the one in the picture above. My headliner is much different too I guess as its for the sunroof coupe...how does yours fit? Any pictures?

Jupp, my one looks different too coz I have for sure the sunroof version. It doesn't shows the kink in the middle. the upper bar fits pretty tight but still sticks into the rear mirror ...
have to make pics when I'm back in the garage ...
cheers

Mine is the sunroof version and has the kink in the middle. Part number 516.042 (for Porsche 991 SSD with tunnel support and X brace) as per Heigo sticker and documentation. It does sit tight against the liner on the left and right hand side corners whereas Jupps one the whole assembly sits much lower under the headliner like an inch gap all round. I wonder if Jupp has a custom headliner. Be keen to see your photos Holger...

One thing I noticed...and perhaps the experts can weigh in...your seat belt receptacle in the front seems really high...if you were in an accident, it seems it wouldn't keep the lap belt very snug on your lap, and that you might slide around quite a bit. I saw from the pic you sent that you mounted the receptacle near the top of the Recaro side mount piece...many on the board mount it on an RS bracket that sits between the bottom of the Recaro side mount and the slider. This lowers the receptacle 2-3 inches. Also makes fitting the receptacle through the Recaro lap belt holes a bit of a bitch.
Thoughts?

Cant say anything to the seastbelt ... my ssetup is different.
No that's for sure a none sunroof bar (see type sticker 516.040) but it has amazing space all around. My one is much tighter ...
Looks lovely. Thats a Heigo bar designed for a sunroof coupe inside a non sunroof coupe correct?

Yes you are right. Mine is 516.042 for 993 SSD and much tighter too. Ive never seen one with some much space around it.
My seat belt catch you can just see in this recent photo. Its about normal height as before...

How did you manage that, where did you bolt them to the seat/side mounts? I agree with JPS regarding the height on mine...it is not optimal, so I will try to come up with a better solution.

Sorry, I was referring to the pic by oysteinw...he seems to have it mounted up higher on the side mount.
I'm trying to figure out, not to hijack the thread, what receptacle to get so that I can mount it low as in the pic above, but get it to come into the side Recaro hole. It is too hard to take the seat in and out with the receptacle in the way...
