Everything is off the car, but haven't been able to work on it for a month due to travel and heat. Just started on it again. I am also putting in a rothsport / fd short shift kit, 72mm wheel studs (mostly for look, which do require rear hub removal btw), and ordered the Fuchs wheels. Struggling with the tierods right now. They just won't come off the rack > next I am figuring out how to install the fire extinguisher in front of the shifter.

Final spacer configuration of the PSS10 with Rennline monoball strut mount.

The front just using the space from Rennline and the washer from Bilstein. Barely enough thread to use the standard nut on top.

The rear I'm using the spacer provided by rennline and the spacer from Bilstein.

I have them test fitted on the car and there is plenty of articulation. I'll take some pictures later to show that also.

Bottom line is you don't need any additional spacer or special top nut with this setup.

Cheers!

I have made a huge mistake 17X8 front and 17X9 rear. Took only 3 days to ship from Germany. The quality of finish speaks for itself from the pictures and they are crazy light compare to the 18" BBS LM I had on before. According to the spec. they are about 1lb lighter on each corner than the stock 17 Cup II wheels. Thinking about going with Conti DW tires. I know PS2 is the way to go, but they are just so expensive. Anyone knows where I can get black on black porsche center caps for these?

Stunning looking wheels, and nice suspension setup. Thanks for posting your "recipe". Will be interested to see a pic with these wheels on the car and get your ride/handling impressions. Sorry, I don't know where to get b/b wheel caps. Custom paint some?

Default I have been down this trail, except...

I removed the PSS9s and took Steve Weiner's advice and added a Motion Control Suspension and H&R springs, 600F/800R. Compare this to the PSS9 spring rate of 250 front, 450 rear, or even the stock springs, M030 (RoW) too, 150 front, 300 rear. In addition I went full bore on the rear suspension with ERP parts based on a recommendation from Bill Verberg:
1. ERP Rear control arm mono ***** (Bill suggested I add these to compliment the other parts)
2. ERP Toe Links
3. ERP Kinematic toe links
4. ERP Rear camber links
5. Rear solid mounts (no tilt) from Rennline via Tarrett Engineering**

I also added the RS front wheel carriers...already had the ERP camber plates.

** As most know Tarrett Engineering out of San Diego, is a distributor for ERP and they produce and sell their own products as well as distribute for Rennline I believe.

Once you have installed all of your parts, you want to know exactly what the car is doing, including a shift light as well as digital read outs on oil ten/pressure, a data logger system. I installed the RLC unit.

As a result of the suspension mods, the car has been transformed...the pic below is 2nd gear acceleration...putting the power down. The car seems to be on rails now. It's is still is an OK ride on the street.

Next project, gears!

Actually I think the Conti DW are better than the PS2 but are not better than the Super Sport. Tire rack ratings in order of best are Super Sport, Conti DW, PS2.

I had 72mm studs put in mostly for look and had mild concern if there was enough thread for the Fuchs without spacers. Test fitting on the new RS front assembly shows no problem at all. Do note that 72mm studs do require removal of rear hub.

Wow :O Can you give more info about the old and new tires and wheels (sizes) and how much the new ones improved in drive quality?

Studs are a sensitive issue w/ me today, a spec Boxster broke all 5 and lost a wheel in front of me at the track today. Be sure that you have quality hardware

Sorry to hear that, bill. Ordered mine from automotion, so I hope they are good quality items. I think the new water cool cars normally use wheel bolts and they sometime use these adaptors which always look a bit questionable to me.

I don't know if they were bolts or studs, we happened to be parked next to each other

That one wasn't half as bad as the GT3 that popped a hose and lubed the whole track w/ antifreeze, there was a lot of rally cross action going on behind him
