I just found the Sylvania H1 SZ SilverStar zXe High Performance Halogen Headlight Bulbs at Amazon for $37.11 a pair, shipped. Thanks for the info on the high beam lights upgrade to match the T-lights. I'm definitely going with these bulbs!

Just what I needed to know. Thanks. Todd

I also ordered the H1's and H3's off of Amazon for $38 each with free shipping(I have Prime).

They were $48+tax locally, I just had to wait 2 days to get my hands on them. Seemed like a good deal to me.

Installed and aimed headlights over the weekend. Almost broke the mechanism while adjusting but managed to salvage it all in the end with a little help from the forum. Everything now looks great. H1's(or was it H3's) on the foglights a still noticeably yellower than the HID low beam lights but they are bright compared to the old bulbs I took out.

Between these and the t-light kit I bought, I am a happy camper. Considering painting the inside of the foglights when I get a chance. Results look amazing.

Well my Sylvania H1 SZ SilverStar zXe High Performance Halogen Headlight Bulbs arrived from Amazon on the slow boat from USA to NZ. Quick install and they match the T-Light white. Thanks for the tip.

He's a member on the forum as I've seen him reply to threads from time to time.....

Great stuff. I wish my car didn't have keyless entry cos his unit is MUCH nicer than the flimsy Porsche unit.

I thought an important part of hid lighting was the reflector and the position of the bulb within it. Otherwise the beam pattern, while bright is has a lot of scatter that can really make it difficult blinding oncoming traffic. How do these perform in that regard and has anyone checked by having someone drive towrd you at night?

The 993 has a reflector-lens construction on the dipped beam, and this is a very beneficial type for installing HID lights. As far as I know is the lens/reflector the same in the original Litronic type. I've used HID's instead of halogens for years now, and with proper adjustment there's no stray light or blinding of others. The T-light instructions contains a quick-guide to light alignment, but also a recommendation to get the adjusted by using professional equipment.
Cheers,
Tore

On your site I see that you have 6000k bulbs available as well. Is the ballast any different for this or can the 6000K bulbs just be used as a direct replacement for the 4300k bulbs?

No difference, same electronics for both bulb colours. The 4300K is the most popular, the same colour as the original Litronics. Some prefer the somewhat more white/bluish 6000K option.

Are they much brighter or is it just the color of the light that is different?

Do they run hotter?

Colour difference only. I've seen notes that 4300K is the best colour according to the human eye sensivity, but I would guess Google will throw up more onfo on this if needed.

Ive just fitted my 4300K T-light kit.... bloody brilliant... did a back to back drive before and after. it was quite Illuminating... The new lights are a massive improvement over the standards.

Took my time cleaning the lights and lenses inside and out while they were on the bench, I was surprised with the amount of cack in there!

The actual swap over took less than 5min per side and all it took was a philips screwdriver and a pair of pliers ( to remove the brown wire connector from its fixing point ). The easiest bit of tinkering Ive ever done.

The only thing I have to worry about now is cleaning off the gazzillion bugs that hit the car now that they can see it coming!!

Are the SilverStar high beams plug and play? No ballast, etc.
