How "anal" are you with respect to keeping the 993 clean?

If I could be in four places at once, I'd drive my 993, ride my motorcycle, buy and sail a nice Island Packet 380 across the ocean and the last one of me would take care of daily chores.
And given the choice of 5 weeks driving my 993 on this continent or riding my motorcycle in the Alps, sorry, but the motocycling in the Alps thing wins countless times over. So my summer driving season is shorter as a result.

QC, its a matter of available time.

This man puts 30 miles on the car once a quarter.
If its truly a matter of time that you can't spare that same 30 minutes once a week, it might be time to sell the thing as its surely not a useful allocation of resources.
At 120 miles a year, you may as well put a cardboard cut out in the garage.

I'd sooner be riding and taking my motorcycle on tours to far away places; others are happy riding around in circles and kicking tires at the local dough-nut shop.

I get that many of us exist on a lower level, but no way, no how is anything on the street at the commitment level of those of us who are "riding around in circles." Unless, of course, you're doing that circle riding on a bike. Which I've never had the ***** to do, mainly because in my early days of auto racing I knew of one guy who was killed in a bike race, and another permanently disabled. Not to mention over the years I don't have enough fingers and toes to count the death/disfigure stories from bike racing.

100%. Someone could light their car on fire for all I care. I wouldn't understand that either, but at the end of the day, all you can do is shrug and keep moving.

Ken, I know many that just ride around in town or very locally (ie: around in circles) and they are perfectly happy doing so. Its not a matter of existing on a lower level as you put it. Its their choice of how they choose to use the toys they have and the same applies to anything. There are many who own boats that hardly leave the slip.

Ok so here it is. One of the main reasons I do not drive the Porsche is because I restored a German Motorcycle which I drive every weekend and I enjoy driving it more than the 993. The motorcycle is a German Victoria Avanti model K from 1957. It is the only one in the USA and there are only about thirty in the entire world. It was a four year project. Every weekend when I drive the Avanti I get stopped by all kinds of people wanting to know what it is. It is thrilling, I had several people asked me to name my price. Back to the Porsche I do not like driving cars but the 993 was my dream car. So I have it as a collector car to be handed down to my kids. Besides driving the 993 in Miami is no fun at all. So here are some pictures of the super wax and the clean engine. Enjoy and have at it.

I don't like cleaning my car but i don't like a dirty car, either. I clean it as much as I can, and will drive my BMW if salt is on the roads and if it's raining (and the 993 is clean in the garage).
If it's already been rained on, and the BMW is clean in the garage, THEN I'll drive the 993 in the rain the next day too without cleaning it. I'm lazy, but I'll clean it late at night if it's dirty, in the dark, using a water source from my garage so the hose isn't frozen.
LOVES me a clean 993. Feels better, drives better, is better.
