Bumperette delete!! I would love a pair of those. Small enough to paint myself and hopefully cost effective enough to make it a no brainer to get this sorted.

Thanks I am doing some testing with some rennlisters now.
See thread https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...ree-stuff.html
And eventually would like to sell them.
What kind of phone do you have ?

does anyone know if they are the same size ?
I don't have a 993 so I may need some help with measurements.
looks like you would want to cut off a 1/2 inch in height to line up with the turn signal and the fog light.

I can see why you would want a bumperette delete on a 993 . The look even more out of place then on my 964 !

The bumperette deletes mentioned were posted earlier in this thread I think and show how they'd kinda fit behind the factory european long turn signal lens and come up and "fill" that notched area. I think that's a darn good suggestion. I cant believe how good those look on that white car and I bet, even if made from polyurethane, would be very reasonable and would sell like hotcakes!

Not the best pic but you can see where you remove the bumperette, there is a notch above the turn/fog area...993 =

This is the guy that molded these covers, his name is John:
If you mean what I think you mean, nice timing, I am getting a 3D printer very soon and my head is filled with possible 3D projects but one of my first tasks is to see if I can print bumperette pieces to improve upon my molded versions. Ideally a 3D scanner would be used (anyone?) to generate an STL that can be tweaked but suspect I'll have to fine tune a self created STL file (I use Autodesk Inventor that should output STL) until I get the curves right.
Attachment 681944
Then I'm going to 3D print bits for my other cars that have fallen off over the years - an armrest latch, a glovebox hinge, missing bodywork caps - all pieces that seem to cost more than I (my wife) think they should. Should be fun.
If you could 3D print Riviera Blue 993 Hardbacks that'd be like printing gold.
We might need an ".STL file swap" thread....

Thanks for the explination we do have it easy with the 964.
The moulded part looks good . I would try getting a 3d model by using something like autodesk 123 catch with the moulded version.

Is the a/c snow flake button too difficult for 3D printing?
A number of listers showed interest.
Existing buttons are deteriorating and no snow flake button - no a/c.

The two parts I had trouble with when trying to work on the snowflake button was:
1) modeling the part. I was going to remove my button to measure, but was hesitant after reading a few posts about damaging the button during removal. I looked for drawings online and tried to find one to buy but never found anything.
2) at least for my printer, I can only print one color at a time and interrupting the print to change filament color is usually destructive to the build. So they would have to made in two pieces and glued together which wont look right.
So if I could get a part to model, then I think I would print them in straight black and try to find a snowflake decal to apply after the printing process. Im just worried about damaging my button trying to take it off, and I'm not sure if I will end up trying at all.

Print a 3-D printer!
As reported by Canada's Lapine: "Man With 3-D Printer Prints 3-D Printer That Prints 3-D Printer That Prints 3-D Printer:"
TORONTO — Unemployed auto mechanic Trevor Braithwaite couldn’t afford a new 3-D printer, so he had to get creative.
“I went to Costco and bought a $5,000 3-D printer on MasterCard,” he told the Toronto Star.
“Then I went home and unpacked it, keeping all the bubble wrap and so on. Within five hours I had printed my own 3-D printer with $47 worth of ink and plastic glop, repackaged the original and returned it to the store for a refund.”
And his creativity didn’t stop there.
“With my new printer I printed another,” he continued, “and then set the two of them printing two more. I’m going into the 3-D printer business. I’ll undercut Costco by a few hundred bucks and make a fortune. ”
“They’re breeding like rabbits in my basement.”
In reply to a CBC request for comment, a red-faced Costco spokesman shrugged and said simply, “It was bound to happen.”

You can definitely print a lot of parts needed for a 3D printer. Look up the Prusa Mendel. If you have a generous friend with a printer, you could build a decent ABS printer for less than $500 using open source, complete models.
