Default Need 3D Printer ideas

I'm getting a PrintrBot + for XMAS! It has a 7.75" cube working area and can create parts in ABS or PLA (organic corn based plastic).

The first parts I plan on making are two snap-in pieces that can cover up the holes left in the front bumper from removing the bumperettes and adding the Turbo S ducts.

Any other ideas ? I do have SolidWorks so I can pretty much model any non-organic shape or if there are existing STL files I can print those as well.

I saw someone created a mount for a Go Pro camera that was attached under the visor clip by a 3D printer. I thought that the design could be easily modified to work for a radar detector, like my V1!

All I need is an STL file or a pic with dimensions and I'll make you one. Although you will have to wait until 2013 as I need to assemble and calibrate it.

That's my design! I'll dig up the STL file for the sun visor clip if you're interested. It was actually pretty easy to model; if you're looking for a fun first project this is a good place to start. This was actually my first 3d print, it only took a few revisions to get it perfect. Remember, measure twice, print once

Congrats on your 3D printer Sachin, you'll love it!

Other ideas

-Phone/GPS mount
-coin holder
-fix/replacement for the ashtray that seems to have a mind of its own

A pellet-based additive process I imagine? So many possibilities. Get creative!

Take care!

Don't understand 3D printing. Is it possible to make a GPS/iPad Mini mount? If so, do it! ... and then sell me another one!

To make this work with the V1, you could use a curved adhesive mount and
a custom adapter link like the one I made and wrote about here:https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...-gopro-v1.html.
