Rubber Wiper Buffer
Fall has made its returned to the Pacific Northwest where it has begun to rain. I recently had the wiper blades replaced where the person forgot to remove and replace the rubber buffer that keeps the two blades from crashing together. A couple quick pics of the new one in place keeping the peace when caught in the occasional rain squall.

Interesting, I do not think that I have that on my car - but driving your car in the RAIN?? I thought that was against Rennlist policy.. :-)
You have the part number?

My wipers don't even come close to each other without this buffer piece.

The rubber buffer fits perfectly into the corresponding oval opening in the lower wiper blade nearest the blade/arm pivot, so that the block faces up toward the upper wiper blade. I have pulled the lower wiper arm away from the windshield in the first picture. The second picture shows the buffer in contact with the upper wiper blade.

Yeah, I had this piece on my wipers but installed backwards from the PO. Brad got me straightened out at the Mariemont gathering....thanks Brad!!
I don't do rain often, but when I do I always use the "buffer". Stay thirsty my friend!!

I have driven mine on a few misty mornings and haven't seen any evidence of them contacting each other. Is this an issue?

No, it rained the first week I had my car, and I wanted to drive it. The wipers never came close to touching.

I'll probably not be experiencing that in this car.
