Default My front licence plate solution

Hi all,

Unfortunately I live in a Province that requires the use of front plates. I quickly designed and manufactured a bracket to mount to the underside (upper) of the grill opening. This prevented me from having to use the existing holes in the bumper. I personally like the plate mounted lower. I also manufactured matching front and rear frames. 316 brushed stainless steel.

Anyways, thought I would post some pics (apparently we all like pics here).

Oh yeah, the last pic is my dad - couldn't stop laughing at this pic as I will never be able to match that stash.

-Adam

looks good. your fortunate enough to have the turbo front end... there is a user here who was able to origami his front plate and squeeze it into the front opening, another solution as well.

those of us in police states with NAs are really hosed the worst.

My old Targe front plate solution below (which I moved the the Turbo - only works on the Turbo bumper) - but I like yours as well, its less likely to trigger a "discussion" with the police....

That's really a nice design and setup..! Unfortunately, I also live in a "front plate State" - and my solution is a lot less elegant... It involves two zip ties and reuse of the old "H" frame on the lower bumper valance... Looks OK, but sure isn't as great as yours..!!

Nice fab work! And I like the camo bumper-etts too.

Running sans front plate may become more of an issue as the use of license plate reads / traffic cameras becomes more prevalent. Always perplexed with the logic that cars need 2 but motorcycles can use just 1 rear in our neck of the woods. And that it varies state to state for cars, yet last I checked crossing state borders is allowed.

Nice, but why didn't you simply purchase the Porsche OEM front license plate holder? That's what I have and it looks very similar to what you did (unless I'm missing something, like the way you mounted it).

This did cross my mind but I had the license plates in my hand and wanted to drive! Easier to whip up a custom bracket than wait and order the oem option.

It is nicely done but someone already drilled holes in your bumper previously it looks like and used bumper plugs. I think I would have just used the factory holes.
