Yeah it's been in the news, four Porsches stopped and impounded on the Sea to Sky highway on Saturday morning, doing between 124-131 kph in an 80 zone (kph)....yeesh. Yeah, look forward to it (the washing). Cheers

Yeah, I saw that. Its not the BBC, I think it was four guys getting together. Not sure who they are but I am sure it will come out somewhere - likely a topic at the BBQ. The news reports are totally biased and pumped up. You think if four Porsches were truly racing they could do better than 131kph (81 mph).

Cheers,

Mike

What a great idea! Need to bring a Goretex full rain suit.

Won't help - with all those angles on the engine/chassis you are almost guaranteed to get it in the face. When I do this, and its hot out, I just put on a tee shirt and shorts, and old pair of runners, and go for it ...

Cheers

It was the BBC and the good old media has been reporting false facts and jazzing it up too. The 4 gents weren't even doing those speeds and no standing radar involved too. The officer u turned after passing by to stopped 4 and let like 10+ others go, bad luck on a long weekend for those particular 4. It just makes great news "pack of porsches."

I thought the BBC was next weekend, so I assume it was not that one - my bad.

They must of been clocked in some manner in order to have the cars impounded. That is one of the reasons I only do one BBC a year, the first one - too much attention with there is dozens of porsches on the road. They should be able to fight if it was just a visual on approaching cars.

Anyone I know? (Guess I will find out at the BBQ).

Cheers,

Mike

Correct I heard the police have no case, but I guess they have to state 40 over to be impounded. More for the inconvenience and to make a statement I guess.

You will find out at your BBQ.

Just curious, does BC requires front plates on our cars when crossing the border? Thanks.

don't think its that enforced - lots of guys coming up do not have the front license plate on with no issues..... but it is the law in BC to have a front plate.

It's a BC law, they can't enforce WA state law up there. You might get asked at the border, but it's never been an issue for me. None of my cars have a front plate.

Not an issue without front plates in Canada, however the 100kph speed limit is a bit painful especially coming in from the US!

Just another bump - all are welcome. I am on a business trip till Friday, so its going to be a mad scramble at the last minute, but I am sure it will work out

The 6 slots are taken, but they may open up if you are interested in the wash.

I can some cleaning materials (Xenit, Simple Green) but please bring your own chemicals - I do not think I have enough to clean 6+ cars.

5 days to go!!

Cheers,

Mike
