When I found your post and inquired I was heart-broken to hear yours was already sold. But the the import tax / duty, transportation, etc. would have added a bit.

I hear you. It's the same when I bring one up here, but our duties are 6.1% vs yours which are 2.5% or something like that. I think the hassle factor is really the biggest deterent from more US guys buying Canadian cars and I understand that. I'd rather buy one up here, but there just aren't many for sale.

Sloan has a very similar one (silver, 17k miles) listed for $73k, but I think the one on ebay is even nicer because it's got a black interior (instead of gray).

Who knows if buyers of ultra low mileage 993's intend to drive them. If so, you could not enjoy driving this car (the way it was intended) with original Monroes.

I recently purchased a 97' C2S with 29K on the clock. I had no real interest in driving it until I put PSS9's & M030 sways on it.

I'm not going to go crazy racking up miles on mine but when I feel like driving it I will enjoy it's ability. It stays flatter in corners and especially long hard sweeps at speed than my stock 997.2.

I guess my point is if you buy this car just to look at that's cool. If you buy it to get the true 993 driving experience plan to spend some $ on sorting out the crappy suspension issues.

Personally, for around the same money this car will fetch (maybe a tiny bit more), I'd take a 993TT with about 30K-40K miles on it.

All comes down to the condition on this one. If perfect, I dont see why its not worth $65k+. Last, right color combo, etc. Find the red calipers to be an odd choice on such a low option car, but otherwise...

However if the early post was right about it having issues, whole other story. I cant remember when/where, but I have definitely seen this car for sale previously, using some of the same pictures.

But with 15k miles and all original paint (claimed), what "issues" are really likely?

That car has the ultimate option list:
PDK delete, cup holder delete, Nav delete, Panamera interior delete, fake exhaust noisemaker delete, radiator delete, rapid depreciation delete, emotionless styling delete, RMS delete. Perfect.

Luv the 993 just as much as the next person, you should try putting a PDK car in sport plus mode and flooring it on an open road.

It's not bad the way it bangs through the gears and you look down to see you are doing a buck twenty and it's holding 4th to the redline and simply asking for more.
The cupholders suck, a water pumper will never sound like a 993, my 997 value is already less than my 993 but it sure is nice to take on my 30 mile drive to the airport in August when it's 99 degrees out.

+1. The Red Calipers is an odd option to be sure considering a sparse option list.

I recall the time spent spec'ing the 993 way back in the day. It came down to what I want and how much do I spend. Money to spend on a caliper asthetic was out of the question.

I'd order: '98 993 C2S currently @ 66k miles and counting.
Metallic paint, Litronic HID, Sunroof, Rear wiper, Full leather, Hardback Ht'd Sport Seats, On board computer, HiFi, CD radio, CD changer, Map pocket lights, footwell lights, Aux oil cooler and additional leather something or other....

Additional options installed at Werk 1:
F & R Euro bumpers, LWF, MY96 G50/21 gearbox, RS short shift, TUV rear fog, M033, black engine grill, etc.

Wow, that is the last of the last. Mine is 321276 12/19/97 last build date for US market, I think...read that here somewhere...

thanks everyone for their thoughts...I bot my '98 C2S w/ 30k miles for high 50s...think I over paid but I love the car!...I was thinking high 50s for this car as well but let's see how the auction goes...

Mark, your car had 4 owners, and almost 15,000 miles. And you had yours for sale in late 2010 and again in 2011 (when it sold). Regardless, the market is moving north in price. Good for all.

true, but the number of owners doesn't concern me to be honest. My experience with these types of cars is that "usually" each owner takes care of any issues found when they buy the car and this can result in more complete maintenance. My one owner C2 with 11,000 miles on it needed $3K in maintenance items when I bought it to bring it up to spec (tires, hood/trunk struts, etc). My 3 owner 13,000 mile C2S need $0 because the previous 2 owners had done that all of that work.

I also agree that the market has moved up, but wonder when potential buyers will look at alternatives given the rising prices??? I see many more posts lately about "my car won't start" etc. As the 993 ages this may deter less enthusiast-type buyers and may bring prices back down a little...
