Of course that changes things. Do you think you could use glove box doors in there instead?

Yeah, I had that thought as well - you would also need the frame/lockset on the dash side.

Awesome Ryan, very happy for you. I know it's been a long road, but you hung in there and what a great result, it looks perfect! I am still loving mine and I would have paid $3K for a brand new one from the factory if it had still been available. Now that the anxiety is behind you, it will make you smile every time you look at it.

Thanks everyone and Thanks paul for all the detailed photos a while back. I am thinking the front frame, doors, middle panel are all NLA from Porsche. The whole thing is a little more complicated than you think it would be.

Congrats Cactus .. I think you were whining about wanting one when I first joined RL in 2008 and now you have a beautiful RSD that you restored yourself! I bet that's a good feeling ... especially considering the price to replace it!!

The doors and middle aren't the issue, it's getting the rounded look on the front frame. I actually have a fiberglass mold for this part above my garage that I made when redoing mine. I thought about selling them but there is too much of a limited market to make it a worthy endeavor.

I think I still have another junky one, unless I threw it away.

A nameless Rennlsiter picked up my not-so-junky one a few months ago, and I'm pretty sure everyone knew it was around in my pile-o-parts since I mentioned it any time I saw a rear seat delete thread.

Looks fantastic! Congrats on finally having it. Soon as my kids get a little bigger,....bam out goes the rear seats and in goes a custom / one-off RSD.

That looks so clean and so much more useful, should be nice on road trips. I'm jealous you bastard.

It looks great. I know you've wanted one for a long time and this one looks great. Good for you for rolling up your sleeves and getting busy!

I've got one for a cab that I would let go for what I paid for it plus shipping...it's marble grey and I paid $1250 for it. If you'd like to see some photos, do a search for Rear Seat Delete Pricing and it should come up...or, PM me and I'll send them to you.

So you molded this piece? It is a mix of metal supports and plastic

Yep that was me The thing that haunts me is that there were two (not one but two) mint condition RSD's at the Hershey Swap about 3 years ago for $500 each. They were both from RSA's so the top board would have needed some cutting but not the complete resto that I had to pull off at double the cost.
