Default Back in Black

It has been a while but I'm back, this time in a 1997 C4S.

Some might remember that I has a 1997 C2S, arena red on black. This was a low mileage garage queen that I sold for great money.
Just before Christmas I was out with the boys for a few drinks at a local pub when one of my buddies calls over a friend he notices sitting at the bar. As we know, all conversations turn to cars, so as we chat this guy says that he wants to get rid of his old car. He has had it since new, bought it at the local dealer and it has been serviced by my mechanic! He mentions that it is time to move on because his car is such old technology. "What kind of car is it"? I ask. The words rolled out of his mouth in slow motion. "It's a 1997 Porsche C4S"! My heart skips a beat... he then goes on to say that he just wants to move on and isn't concerned too much about the price. I take his name and number and sleep on it.

Well, after taking the car to the mechanic for inspection, him going on a trip to Mexico, me travelling for work and so on, the car is finally mine. The day I got the car home it snowed and now it has been raining. I wanted to show my peeps here at Rennlist my new toy, so here it is:

1997 C4S Black/Cashmere
Just over 60,000 miles/100,000km
Local car, one owner
Full record from new
Lowered suspension
Hard back sport seats
Motor sound
Litronic headlights
HiFi sound

I got it for just over half the price I sold the C2S for but this one I will feel much better about driving as the arena car had just 30,000 miles.

Sold old C2S for $60,000 and picked up the C4S for $35,000

For all of us dyslexics I love the plate!

Glad to be back in black

Agree 100%. You stole that car at $35K. Best buy of 2012 without a doubt.

Was this car located in the Dunbar area? I live in the area and I always would walk by a black c4s, but I haven't seen it in a few years. Hoping to have a turbo in the next few weeks, so we should get together when the weather gets better in raincouver.

The PO lived in Point Grey for the last two years and before that in Yaletown.

Congratulations. Do you notice any difference in driving between the C4S and the S?

Nice find! I think I've seen your car at John Broeks place recently. Your cars factory specs are almost exactly the same as my black C4S from Vancouver. Wish I had rear wiper delete like yours though....

In the short time I have had the car I notice no difference in performance but in the rain the 4S is very planted.
