I have the same question. I haven't had any luck through Gert or anywhere. Anyone?

Imagine the premium now for an original OEM Porsche Cup Steering wheel that’s complete.

so I'm going to use the down time to replace my steering wheel, and this is one of a handful of great writeups. I found this part on the Porscheusa/classic993 site and I'm wondering if it would be useful when replacing the steering wheel with a Momo 07, Competition or Prototipo...

http://www.classicshop.porsche.com/p...334709981.html

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Marc

Marc, that part is not necessary as it will come installed on the appropriate Momo 7004 hub that you need to buy to fit the steering wheel. You might be mistaking the part you posted with the 928 horn contact prong that you WILL need.

Thanks...it looked like such a clean option.

On another topic, what do you search for on eBay for the clockspring and connectors? "Porsche clockspring"? I go hot and cold about tackling this myself. I've done plenty that's mechanical in nature, but when there's wires involved

I'm also waffling between a 07 and a Prototipo. It looks like the dish on the 07 is modest, but the flat, traditional look of the 'tipo is also nice. Help me decide

Depends on how tall you are...the Momo hub will push a 0' dish wheel like the Prototipo only about a half inch from where your stock steering wheel is currently set.

Thanks for the input....I did a little measuring, and I think the 07 will move the wheel closer to me than I like. I'm 5'10", and the seat is almost all the way back. I'm now going between the Tipo and the Competition. Probably will go with the Tipo. Thanks again.

5'10" here and the Mod07 was just right, I would only go with a flat wheel like the Prototipo with something like a quick release sandwiched in to bring wheel closer otherwise it is not any more
optimal than oem.

If you plan on using a MOMO steering it won't use a clock spring so just salvage yours...wasnt clear in the above post and I spent the unneeded $50 bucks on a used one. was planning on posting this in a few days as I am currently swapping out a Tiptronic wheel for a MOMO...
