This AM's csertich update: MRI results came back positive (HUGE!). Results reviewed with 3 doctors.
Docs approved holiday with family, his first vacation in a long while. Have fun, Chuck!
Yep, but I sure am enjoying yours.
Computerized misery loves company: my laptop died before Palooza, had to be sent to manufacturer; still not back yet
Looks like a deliciously-rare TechArt?

I arrived at Palooza looking forward to seeing RJT's 911. I expected to like it, but I had no idea it would literally stop me in my tracks when I first saw it -- glorious creation
Occupant's thinking he'd have a much Smurfier view if the owner had used Stoner's "Invisible Glass"

Back to real life, where professors assign homework every night, and take-home tests every weekend ... even Thanksgiving
Palooza was a great escape
Silly, that's your story. That's one reason I wrote that I should be thanking you for much.
At the time, all I knew is that if I didn't move there as instructed, I risked bodily harm

He even had Smurf blue painter tape to stick his info up on his window!
THank you Mr. Pumpkinhead. You are too kind. It is a pretty cool looking 911 though. Once it's sold, it's going to be on the "I really miss it" list.

I was sort of wanting you NOT to listen to me so I could give you a public spanking. lol

Not just my opinion -- check out Cal and Resto's "2011 Porsche Palooza" blog:
My favourite car in the show, backdated 1987 911.

WHOA! Where did you find those????
Well... that is so nice of him to say. I know we were a lot of people's favorite car, at least that is what they were telling us.
Thanks for the Pictures Pumpkin.

Jo- My pleasure; when I relayed my arguably insane plan to ship Speedy from CA just to chauffeur Chuck to Palooza, you became a main motivator (nothing to to do with your 'mafia' ties ).
Hey JoAnne, any info on the Blue 356 Euro Speedster? Looks like a very original car ...
...continuing Cal and Resto's "2011 Porsche Palooza" blog:
While on Arkansas due to work managed to squeeze the PCA Porsche Palooza to my agenda. I didn't have high expectations about the event but I was wrong as there were number of cool older cars present apart from the watercooled ones. The drive through Ozarks was interesting one

Nordschleife Master
Yes, it looks strikingly familiar and very close to one we used to see around Monterey years ago .. original paint, upholstery and even factory luggage. That car changed hands in the '90's for what I thought then was an Astronomical sum of $90K! I wonder if this is the same car .. not many in that color in the U.S. methinks ..

Might as well finish out the blog's Palooza pix.
...and what a photo-finish: RLer bbs993tt's Fayence Yellow CGT
I guess the newer cars bring certain element to the show, looked like the club members were judging the cars and it was pretty interesting to listen in some "experts". There was a guy having strong opinions about 914s while wearing the participant badge that said 1997 Boxster, resale value probably smaller than the restoration bill on these cars
And the long distance award goes to?
For all of us who were teenagers in mid 80's Looks so right.
The rarest beast was parked outside the event area for some reason.

JoAnne-- He told me a very similar story about his '89 Mexico Blue, after asking where the heck I got a photo like those below.
P.S. Small world: first thing I did this AM was respond to his e-mail re: Speedy.

I know exactly where you got it! You must archive everything!!!!!! Now you are scaring me. lol
That was an amazing run. I think it was 1992. We were following close behind and that is when I fell in love with Sam's car.

Ron Howard film, "When You Find Me"
Wow. We burned through this page of the thread quickly.
Slightly OT, so saved for the page's bottom post...
Palooza's event photographer is Kelly Shipp. Since this was my first PP, I just met him.
As you might guess, he captures great images of the AR driving & Porsches.
What's not so obvious is:
Director/Actor Ron Howard & others recently hosted a competition in which anyone could submit a photo, 8 of which would be picked to have a short film made with a fictional plot evoked from the images.
Yep, you're right: Kelly Shipp's shot was picked
...out of >96,250 submissions!!!
His winning entry, "Where One Day Ends, A New Day Begins"...
Kelly's news interview video (starting at 55 seconds)...
Ron Howard's congratulations...
The film trailer (the Hollywood version of Kelly's work opens & closes the clip)...
The winning 8 photographers with at the film's world premiere in NY's American Museum of Natural History, earlier this week.
Ron Howard & his daughter in the middle, Mr. Shipp's on the right...
