Great intro and story! Heck, if the paint isn't perfect or is checked, but not a future rust issue, I think I'd leave it just because its part of an amazing story that goes with the car.

Meffa, ha? That's really close (I'm in Boston). Maybe will stop by to say hello some time and look at the car. Sounds pretty cool.

Chris and Kevin, a little info on Rick, please? Not that my cars are in need of paint correction (they are way beyond that), but I might try.

Mike,

One of the top detailers in the country. Has a place in Wakefield. Does serious work on very high end cars. Did wonders on my black car. I am sure he will bring your car back beyond your expectations. PM me for his number.

Im going to take a crack at the paint before I call for help. It is almost consistently dull enough to pass as a matte wrap, although now that I see those on 430 Scuds AND civics it's not the look I'm going for. FD has dispatched the UPS trucks but I have locally sourced filters, etc to try and get the thing started this weekend. I've already started with the draining, oiling etc. Thanks for all of the advice, esp Geolab with the details.

time to replace? I didn't want to inadvertently turn on the wipers and scratch the glass. I don't think this qualifies as slippery slope material though.

Where is his shop there?

It isn't that little place on the corner downtown that always has cool things in the front showroom and left side parking lot,,,is it?

We didn't vacation in Narragansett this year, so I didn't wander by.

Kevin, thanks, I got info from Chris.

Guys, maybe we should all get together and visit Christian to see this thing, eh? Say, Saturday the 22nd I don't see to have any autocrosses, so I'm game.

Congrats and great find! I bookmarked this thread, better than Chasing Classic Cars.

Wayne Carini would be banging his head if he heard about this find!
