Thanks for the help with an explanation of the studs! I also lost the square captive nut from the center bracket but lucked out when I stopped by my mechanic to learn that he has a parts 993 that he removed the nut from one of the brackets! None of the DIY pages provide a clear explanation on the proper installation of the rear reflector where it isn't as simple as sliding the old one out and the new one on.
Cheers! Harlan

Lots of little jobs done over the last couple of days.
Marc & Neil fighting with the trim for the roof front rail before fitting.
Front compartment completed
Mirror mechanisms fitted and now working (don't ask)
New door window in right door (Used door window for left door had the wrong runner rail fitted & needed modification....)
Marc fine adjusting the roof mechanism & removing the supprt rails for trimming
and so it goes.
Need the roof cover on next, then we can finish the interior trim ready for road trials this week with RP (who is now on a 'plane into Manchester as I write this), so expect more updates soon.

Test Drive!!!!!
Sun was shining, so with RP over for a quick inspection it would have been rude not to take the car out for a shakedown run, wouldn't it? Two seats borrowed from customer cars but no door panels or roof skin and unpainted clamshell besides, with 40 litres of Shell V-Power in the tank there was no stopping Marc and Arpad from enjoing the UK sunshine today.
Smiles all round from start to finish, I'll let RP describe the feeling of driving his new 9m93 Speedster S for the first time ....

Indeed, amazing build. I just finished reading the entire thread yesterday and the work done to this speedster is one of a kind.
I dig the techart wheels, but just my opinion a nice set of either RUFs or GT speedlines would look killer. Anyway, cant wait for more pics!

Wheel alignment data, all green apart from the RS camber setting on the front end.
Marc building the door panels up now, looking mighty fine. Unfortunately a problem with the left window runner stopped us from building the left door, a replacement is now on the way.

hello to every RL fellows who are interested about my speedywhite!
first of all, sorry for my long silence on the thread but i was on holiday and after it my job stole all my time. So about a week ago i visited 9m to see speedywhite in real. The car was 95% ready and i had the luck to have the first test drive. If i say lucky i mean that at that time there was rain, rain and rain in England for over a couple of weeks but during my visit the sun was shining. It was more than necesarry becouse the roof was not ready that time :-)
it's hard for myself to be objective about the car but it is simply gorgeous!! The chassis is rigid like a coupe ( i had a 993 cabrio for 3 years, so i know it's torsion stifness limits), very tight in corners but also comfortable (thanks for the KW Var3i suspension). She is equipped with RS single mass flywheel which makes a huge difference to stock DMF! Taking rev is much quicker and faster engine response. The feel of the shifting is great thanks to FDM golden rod. Wonder, how would the short shift kit working in speedywhite...
i took a lot of pictures from the car and i will share the best with you. The paint is really beautifull, however the final polishing haven't made yet. I was a bit worriing, that the carrara white will be too modern on the 993 body but it looks just great. I had a GP white 4S but to be honest i prefer this shade of white to the more "creamy" GP version.
Andy, the trimmer made a great job with the complete leather upholstery but i haven't seen the most important piece of the interior, the seats. HOpe it will be ready soon...
now, enjoy the pictures!

it won't be too original after Jaeger's and Graham's wheel choise
i would rather walk my own way and i will stay at 18" wheels
(however the new original 18" Fuchs alloys in polished/painted version would worth a try to see how it's working on the speedster body...)
