I have to figure out where to travel with speedywhite. Maybe Switzerland, south Tirol and Austria would be also great.....

Clamshell fits perfectly now everything is aligned and shimmed correctly. Marc is seriously impressed with the accuracy of the assembly, all adjustable mountings are in their mid position and the frame is parallel with the screen. Now that makes a refreshing change.

One major seal missing, apparently on back order with Porsche hence why it was omitted from the batch of parts you had delivered. On top of that we are short of a few more fulcrum pins (hexagon socket pivot screws) and their corresponding plastic bushes and shims. One of the roof trim parts is unodtainable but we have sourced a replacement and the reinforcements missing from the new hood cloth have been recovered from the damaged original you supplied. Marc now has all the minor stuff on order with Porsche but we are still awaiting news of the delivery date for the seal.
Shame you can't still buy them pre-assembled. Crazy thing is that Porsche charge around 300% more for the privilege of spending three days assembling the roof from parts......

Of course I'd use it more for the idiots in the country, who DON'T understand how the high beam switch has two setting (the other one being LOW BEAM!!!!).

Saturday afternoon me and Marc went through the lights and fitted the new rear reflector panel. Sure as working on this car seems to be, we had fun getting everything to work. A blown rear brake lamp was easy enough to fix; then came inoperative fog lights which boiled down to a missing link in the main fuse board; then the left hand headlamp stopped working - down to a partial connection on the headlamp socket on the mounting mechanism - bracket adjustment fixed that; final issue was a blown fuse on the left hand side light circuit, caused by a spade connection in the aftermarket fog lamp earthing out, rectified with heat shrink sleeving.

Colin, Were the three phillips head studs difficult to fasten down on the new center reflector that you installed? I got a new reflector here that I can't get the studs to turn. Excellent reconstruction BTW!
