It's sort out time down at the ranch. We had a whole lot of stuff from the donor car which was not going to be refitted, so before we could box it up for the return trip to RP we had to pull everything out of storage to separate the good, the bad and the ugly before cleaning & fitting the good stuff onto the shell. On the pile of parts, two items of note are the cardboard tube heater silencers which run down inside the sills which are seldom seen outside of the car. These are replacements, unfortunately the originals were damaged sometime in the past life of the donor car.
Apparently we're now contemplating taking the suspension apart to the last nut & bolt for a complete renovation, paint & re-plate of all the components (like the job we did on a GT3: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-gt2-...-996gt3-5.html), so if you all have an opinion on this, please direct them at RP......
I know that I said we were hoping to have the shell painted white this week, unfortunately the meticulous Marc and Neil inspected the primered outer panels and decided that they wanted to do a little more perfecting before we can lay on the Carrara White, so we're going to mask off the rest of the car whilst we do these minor panel aberations and re-primer the fenders.

With the inside and floor painted white, our attention turned to the outer panels. The plan was to mask off the painted sections, dry flat the outer panels and gun them in colour, however once we flatted them off Marc discovered some minor flaws in the primer and decided that we would have to block it down and primer it again:

First parts fitted today: Heater tubes through the sills.
OK, I admit, not huge progress as we have a lot of other work to finish off before we can clear the decks to hit it for real. Sorry Arpad!
