This is the perfect time to weld all the coolant fitting as well...but it looks like you might already be onto that!

Serge - indeed, Colin's already on it!

9M aren't a heap closer to me than they are most of you lot, but they've been worth my trips up there so far

Oh for 4L one day...and an engine as clean as the car's downstairs!

Assembly now progressing, starting with the tunnel lines and moving to the front end. Richard is finding it very satisfying to build the car with refurbished or new parts ... to the point where i think it might have spoiled him for future builds.

Looking at the work I'd say it should be Ben buffing up Colin's lump!

Merry Christmas to all at 9M from me. I'll see you in the new year no doubt...

Make yours yellow, Ratbag, and it might sneak in somewhere, otherwise it looks like GT2rainge's will get the nod for being Speed Yellow.

Lovely looking GT2 it is, too. Is the underside the reason for the upcoming visit now that a yellow guinea pig has gone before you?

All in good time Colin. Main problem at the moment is that the dipped lights have stopped working!

Frustratingly we had delay the assembly job whilst waiting for some of the new parts to be delivered and then painted, so once the front strut was fitted the suspension hit a temporary stop. Work then focused on readying the shell for fitting the front and rear bumpers, obviously the rear one will be left off until the engine is refitted, but more on that later...

Quick update of the progress last week:

Install handbrake cables, shoes and mechanism. Check.

Assemble interior. Check. (sorry for pants photo)

New front o/s hub masked & painted. Check.

The hub was replaced because we were not happy with the fit of the new wheel bearing, would probably have been ok but at this level of work it is just not worth taking a punt.

Front control arm inner bushes renewed. Check.

Front wheel carriers, hubs, discs, calipers refitted. Check.

Rear axle complete. Check.

Looks like we will have doors on, bumpers fitted and the car rolling next week, so then it will be moved back into the 9m Technic workshop for the engine refit. More on that later.
