I also had a funny conversation with Dave at MS roadrace last month. He had a new 993 leather seat cover advertised on ebay for $500, but the picture of the item was a 996 cover. After I sent an inquiry for more pictures of the right part, he replied its was the right cover and sent another picture with a 993 part number but only half the number was was visible, since a portion was actually ripped off the tag. He was clearly trying to rip me off. He even had the nerve to email me again and ask if he should get the part ready for shipping. Buyer beware!

Man, I just got a nasty message back from him too. He sent me a load of links to all the calipers on e-bay, and funny, not one had painted spring or bleed nipples.

I know Dave, he is a SoCal Porsche Racer. He has always been a stand up guy. Maybe Dave was just pulling your leg?

FWIW I too have delt with Dave. In the tranactions I have done he was a stand up guy. But I have delt with him in person.

I have done business with Dave in the past with good results.

He associates with Todd at LAPD. Seems like they are birds of a feather. I have had good dealings Todd too.

I think caution is wise whomever you deal with these days.

I have purchased a few sets of wheels from MSRR and know a few other people that have as well. It was not through ebay, but everything was as described and very well priced.

I'm not vouching for them by any means but have had only good experiences.

I have known Dave for a long time. He has a reputation for always helping people out at the track. He has a truck load of spares in his trailer.

Just an FYI: eBay ratings mean nothing. They can be easily manipulated. As a reference, one of the most crooked eBay vendors, Victory Motors, has a 100% positive rating.

In any event, he is insisting these are new calipers. He just sent me a note repeating that they are new.

Either all of us here are ignorant, or Dave's smelled too many gas fumes at the track.
