Default Looking for low brake dust pads

I get a large amount of brake dust on my wheels even after 1 day of driving. Now that I bought new wheels, I think I may go crazy cleaning around all the bolts and polishing all the time. My current pads squeal like crazy also. I'm thinking that maybe I should replace the pads. I searched this forum and cannot come up with a consensus of what pads to buy. It's a daily driver in the summer (not driven in the winter) and I never track the vehicle. I would prefer to find pads that are very low in brake dust (is there such a thing as no brake dust?) and are not prone to squealing. Of course, performance plays into the decision as well, but I do not need any type of racing pads. I believe my current pads are OEM. What brake pads do you guys use and are you happy with them?

I use Hawk HPS pads on the street. They are a fairly low dusting pad and have plenty of stopping power on my 993. As long as the brake assembly is kept clean through regular washing of the car, they are quiet.

I use them on my Touareg as well. Still low dusting but I am not as happy with their clamping power on that heavy car.

I have used PBR/Metalmaster in the past with good result. But by far my favorite is Rotex Gold that I used for many years on all my BMWs (M3s and 335). They have the initial bite of oem and does not fade in repeated city driving. Best of all, Rotex keeps your rims looking clean for weeks. They are made of kevlar/ceramic, and what little dust they make is very minimal to none. I think you'll love these since you don't track. I ordered them from brakewarehouse.com. Haven't tried it on my 993 yet....brakes still new. Not affiliated with this brand. Just my $.02

I had this problem with my MINI, we just switched over to EBC Redstuff, & I LOVE THEM, awesome feel, better stopping power, & low dust.

They do make them for the 993, & when my pads are done, I was going to try them out.

I use akebono euro on my bmw... cannot be happier. No brake dust to speak of. the rears are still oem and they get dusty before the fronts.

with any other pads besides oem... you will notice the initial "bite" is not as forceful but that is not to say you cannot stop... they work great.

I have the Akebonos on my 325 and although the wheels stay clean, I don't like their feel or initial bite. I can still lock up the wheels but definitely takes more pedal pressure. The EBCs sound more to my liking. I have EBCs on my Moto Guzzi and they have good bite.

How about the stock pads? I do not get the much "dust", and with the proper application of the spyders, its very rare to get any squeaking.

I find the opposite, you usually get better bite, that's part of why you upgrade. The EBC's have more bite over stock.

I have EBC RedStuff on mine. Virtually no dust and great bite. However, they SQUEAL like crazy!!!!

I've made sure the brake spiders are on and added the anti-squeal gel. But they still sqeals. LOUDLY!!!!

That's interesting. I was looking forward to putting them on the C4. On the MINI, there has not been any squealing. Now I'm not sure, but even my stock pads/rotors will squeal some times.

I really like the lower dust, & of course the feel & stopping power.

sadly I couldn't get akebono euros front and rear on my s500, so I went with the akes up front and the EBC redstuffs out back.

The red stuffs dust far more than the akebonos. I won't pretend to say that I noticed a difference in braking.

If I cared about this in the 911, i'd go with the akebonos.

Thanks for all the comments/help. I'm going to try the Rotex Gold suggestion from P-daddy.
