Ben-- You may want to ask race911 or search his posts on the topic. Good luck.

Anyway, here's two more with the older and newer Yakima bike mounts. I did have one of the small cargo boxes for awhile, and used it on the '92 C4 to carry golf clubs when we used that car for traveling.

Have successfully used Thule bars with 951 feet at the front and 952 feet at the rear - see https://rennlist.com/forums/993-turb...ical-side.html
Naturally, many not so pleasant comments were apparently uttered. Thankfully, I could really give a $hit what other people think of how I utilize my vehicles. The rack does add a nice utility dimension to the car, since not much fits inside.

I have the Thule mounts and cross bars. I haven't actually used it yet, but my intention is to transport the mountain bikes with it. It really is a better option than throwing them in the back of my truck; they won't be banging around like they do in the truck, and I will get to drive the 993 instead of a truck. Most of the comments I have received have been positive. Like Magdaddy though, it's not like it matters to me if some don't like it.

I Have the 951/952 Thule set with bar and Harpro Zenith roof pod all ready to go for our 2011 holiday south. Never put them on yet.
Love the look tho!

Couple racks here. The first is my Dad's setup. I think he was getting new rubber installed this day...

This 87 took me up to Vail and back plenty of times. With winter tires this thing was a beast in the snow. The only issue was the low front end. I plowed the road frequently.

Three Wheelin'

Daltvader - I have been using the Thule rack and just been attaching the wheels/tires vertically but I keep seeing these attachments that let you lay the wheels down horizontally. Where did you get that or did you have it made?
