993 front bumper cover r&R
Need advice on reinstalling front bumper cover. Recently removed front bumper cover to fill in license plate bracket holes. When going to reinstall, it became very tricky to have the black rubber seals on the top side of the bumper (between bumper cover and front of fender under headlight areas) line up and match. Some of the factory staples popped out. Would it be best to keep and reuse these black rubber seals or get new ones from the dealer? Also, any idea what size staples to use when reattaching the black rubber seals? Want to make it look perfect again and would appreciate any advice.

Dr. G-- Pencil in Monterey next Aug, maybe you, Dave, & I will catch up again.
Hope you've seen his new website; tell him I luv it!
If you haven't read the following write-ups, or contacted the authors directly, check these out:
In your neck of the woods, Paul K's recent "Turbo bumper install" thread.
Jhubs' "Euro Turbo front bumper install" thread. Jerry mentions staples & seals...
I noticed that the black beading between the body and the bumper on the old bumper was put on with a double stick tape and then simply stapled with a staple gun. I planned on using 3M trim adheasive and 1/8" staples and staple it.
Below is photo of old bumper and trim notice the yellow tape and the metal staples and the small staple holes in the polyprop. bumper.

Ken-- Guess you guys got my ^^ response. (See Dave's below post to the RLer I recommended.)
Took me a long time to confirm that, though ... was freaked out when I went to check the thread & didn't see my response -- the one that's clearly above.
Makes no sense? That's what I thought, too, like Bizarro World / Twilight Zone.
Clicking here will make more sense:
ken garchow's "993 front bumper cover r&R" thread. <--- Exact same author & title as this thread.
(I jokingly say some people will do anything to up their post count )
Accidental double-posted threads happen commonly, & the original poster closes/locks one of 'em, to keep others from unintended frustrations.

Hay Jager,
I've been having some strange problems with Rennlist. Haven't been on in a long time - maybe that's it. I posted the bumper thread the first time and it never appeared, so I figured something went wrong and reposted - now it shows up twice - weird. Also tried responding and that didn't show up, so had Dave give it a shot for me.
I'm not sure about Monterey for next year yet, but know Dave is planning on going. Would be great for all of us to get together again and catch up.
Thanks for your help and links - really appreciate the help.

Ken:
The rubber gasket was a PITA. I didn't use staples- used double sided sticky tape, IIRC. Let me know how it goes- if I had a trip to portland scheduled I'd come lend a hand!
Cheers,
Paul.
