Default Turbo bumper install

All:

My stock bumper was trashed & ugly, so I bought a used Turbo bumper. Sanded it down & filled the nicks/scratches, got it painted & finally got around to installing it today;

Before:

During:

After:

Way better! If you're on the fence about this, do it! The only tricky part is getting the rubber trim right.

The turbo fogs/ducts aren't ready yet.

Now I have to decide whether or not to put on a front license plate!

Cheers,

Paul.

Did you get the bumper at Sunset? Where did you get it painted?
Any recommendation for a trustworthy paint shop in Portland?
I'll probably do a Euro-conversion while I'm at it....
Thanks!

Konstantin:

I bought the bumper used, though I am sure Sunset can get you one. If I were to do it over, I'd just suck it up & buy a new one.

I had it painted locally- same outfit that painted my MY'02s Polar Silver. Any decent paint shop should be able to do this, as new bumper covers are pretty common! As for a reputable shop in Portland- I suggest you ask around the area.

Cheers,

Paul.

you can always mount a plate with one of those adapters that screw into your tow socket!

Great pictures. I'm now convinced that I'll do the same to my silver 96 C4. How long did the installation take?

About a day to remove the old one & get the new one on. I did it by myself- if I had had help it would have been a lot easier.

Paul,
Nice job. I've been a fan of your Polar Silver MY02's for some time - can you post more pics of the wheels?

+1... get the bumper plugs and put your plate in the trunk... tell the officer that the bracket, to hold the plate on the front bumper, is ordered from Germany and you can't wait for it to arrive and get your new bumper finished! It worked for me!
