One often forgotten aspect of building a car from scratch are the fasteners that hold everything together. Unfortunately it is just not cost effective to buy all new stuff (would you believe that a set of 4 door hinge pins are now the best part of $100 from Porsche?!?) so we send all the parts away for replating and they come back looking like new. The guys who do it must have some patience because all the parts are individually wired and hung up so that they do not get lost in the plating tanks.
These are the parts from both this car and the 9m11RS, the more seasoned Porsche officionados might recognise some of the bits from each car on the table. Marc actually remembers where every single one goes....
Colin: I am so envious of the skill and effort required to build things so beautiful. Your work really is inspiring and the end products are works of art.
And so the continuation of assembly carries on as you can see Robin is pleased about hes missing his Daleks and Storm troopers so the 9M93RS will have to do.

Nice to see Robin smiling! This thing is starting to look like a car again ..
This is commendable, the level of detail is simply awe inspiring!! In most instances this level of detail is only paid to the rarest of 356 and pedigreed race car restorations. I hope this is indicative of how highly our 993's are regarded as time goes by. I have a friend that owns a plating and powdercoating shop and I've seen the tedious nature of having to thread wire individual nuts and washers before they are dipped. Excellent work as always!
