Default Returning my seats to newish condition without dye...

Anyone ever compiled a list of the best detailers in each region? Someone should.

Let me tell you why I ask.

I recently took my car to a shop in Seattle after getting recommendations from other Porsche friends.

(And, No. I absolutely do not work for this company. I am software guy. Not a guy selling cars or car services. I don't have relatives who work for the company. I didn't even know these guys two weeks ago.)

But, then I got my car back last week followed by this unexpected and highly detailed write-up of the whole process.

http://bit.ly/94zcU9

My point of sharing this with you is because my seats had become discolored from denim transfer and apparent wear which I thought was going to require that I have them dyed. Or something. The "consumer" grade stuff I had used to try to bring my seats back to life apparently wasn't getting the job done. After these guys used some professional materials and letting it sit for 24 hours, my seats actually changed color and returned to as close to new as could be possible. I was pretty blown away. The pics do a decent job of capturing this. I'll try to find out what product they used and share it here.

This post is fantastic. Too bad I cannot find a shop like this in WI. I would gladly pay to have a good detail job like this. Looking forward to the additional info on what products were used to prep/clean and condition the seats.

Looks like NWAS did a fantastic job detailing your car. We'll need to set up a social gathering sometime when the weather warms up where we can have coffee or lunch and get all of local Rennlisters and their993s together for photographs.

I think it would be fair to ask the shop what exactly they used on leather.

They only mention conditioner left for 24 hours. I'm sure that at least some sort of cleaner was used. Possibly cleaner with some dye? It would be a great service to 993 community if OP asks ans posts here.

Yes, please asked them what they used. The interior shop that installed my cab top claims that the best thing to use on leather is.... Lemon Pledge!

I have been afraid to use it. Anyone else heard this?

Pledge may work...but I just received my LEATHERTIQUE in the mail and I am going to try that first before Pledge.

Kelly, your car looks great! enjoy

They did a beautiful job! I shudder to think what they charged you for that package, but it was worth it when you see the result. A paint correction done right is a labor of love and $$.
I've been using Leatherique for 3-4 years, and that looks very much like the same process when you oil it up before conditioning. But I suspect they gave the bolster and seat cushion some extra attention, because Leatherique alone won't fix stuff like that.

That looks an awful lot like the old Metropolitan Detail shop, but not the same crew, thankfully.
