Yes, but all you get are 4 spade electrical connectors. Def get the std kit and save $10

Definitely the most expensive spade connectors i have ever bought.

Also they kept me on hold for 20 minutes, not cheap when you are calling from Norway.
Had to call as it is not possible to contact them by mail (one only gets an automated answer) they messed up my order and shipped it in two different shipments, had to pay extra 35 usd in customs fee due to this.

And did anyone find out what the spade connectors are for ? I did not use them. Willing to sell them for 8 usd (2 dollars of normal price) buyer pays for shipping

In other words : buying the 993 specific kit is a TOTAL waste.

Not a very happy costumer

Hope you guys at DDM are reading this.

Happy weekend folks

Ordered the standard kit H1 and H3's yesterday for 70 bucks. If I recall, the ones I installed in my previous two 993's were about 200 bucks for one kit.

Made a call and they are sending me a return authorization so hopefully I'll get the right ones this time.

I have a four year old Vertex kit with a dead ballast. Time for a new kit. I see the DDM version is tinier and fits in the light housing, a nice feature given the way I just crammed the larger Vertex ballasts into the fender cavity - that's what caused one to fail when it dislodged from where I put it during a "manuever".

My question to those of you who have shopped these recently: Questionable customer service aside, are DDM's the ones to get these days? If so, please post a link to their site. If not, whose are "better?" TIA

Great write-up.

Any pics of the actual headlights with the lights on?

You could try these guys instead. This is where I bought my Apexcore kit. IIRC they were a few more $$$.

Wow, these things have fallen in price tremendously.

Four years ago, the debate was about what bulb to get - 4300K being approximately the whitest, with 5000K and 6000K going from blue to almost purple as the number increased. Now the debate is 35W to 55W?

DDM is here: http://www.ddmtuning.com/products/101/ . I can't say whether they're the best or equal to others. My goal was a meaningful but not huge improvement in light on the road. I bought DDM primarily on the experience described in other RL posts and secondarily on price.

DDM's stuff seems to be made in China like most others (except OEM at many times the price). I got the 35 Wt ballast with 5000K bulb. The color is whiter than I expected. I might go with 4300K next time. Some here think the 55 Wt ballast is great while others says it's powerful enough to wash out objects. Based on three weeks of experience and only a few drives in the dark, I'm happy with my choice.

Thanks. I've got 4300K's in now, and they are white and very effective. Having said that, I might go 5000K next time to better match those 5000K LED fog lights I put in this spring.

Let me ask a follow up or two to those with the 55w set ups:

The DDM site claims the 55w ballast is 1 cm longer than the 35w. Will it still fit inside the headlight assembly? Also, how bright are the 55 watters? My eyes are nearly a half century old, and nowadays they appreciate as many photons as I can throw at them. While I'm inclined to go 55w, I don't want to create the obnoxious ricer effect, y'know?

I did 55w. They are so bright that when my passenger side ballast failed it took me a while to figure it out. And yes the ballasts fit inside the assembly...the kit shown in this DIY is a 55w.

I've got 5000k 55W and they are fine. I didn't want to try and stuff everything into the bucket so mounted the ballasts externally in the fenders. They are also on a DDM relay which is optional.

Thanks. 55w for me, then...it's quite possible my current Vertex kit is 55w, because I too had trouble seeing that one of my lights was out.
