hello i just have a simple question and dont know where to really find it. is the 930 roof the same as the 993 roof? it seems like the doors are the same as long as other parts but curious on the roof.
im looking into get a non sunroof skin for my car and just wanted to make sure the roofs are still the same between the 2 cars.

It is my understanding they are, but I would take a few measurements to make sure.

I thought the doors were shared by '65-'89 only, so your 930 roof match is suspect to me.

might be im not a 100 percent on the roof yet thats why i was hoping someone on here might know.ill keep looking though thanks so far

The windshield and rear window do not mount the same between these different era cars.

my cars a true frankenstein. it has 993 front an rear windows from what i was told and the only thing left orginal was the roof which was 930. maybe ill just have to weld up sunroof instead of puttin a new skin on

I seem to recall (hopefully, correctly) that Paul Frere stated in the 911 Story that only the roof was the same on 993s (as on earlier cars).

I didn't know this particular answer, but I sure knew what the answer was when I read it.

Back to "how do we know?" From hacking and reconstructing. I've had torsion bar era cars disassembled to the point that you wouldn't recognize some of the sheetmetal lurking in the innards. Or electrical stuff. Amazing amount of changes year-to-year. But now, I am SO HAPPY that the 993s just run (and have never been damaged) so I can just drive them.

thanks alot to everyone you guys are awesome now i just need to find a place to get a non sunroof skin. i called dealer my cost is 1400 but i seen a guy on here that said it only cost him 900 for it hopefully he gets back to me soon
