I can't believe there are 4 pages of strut brace suggestions when all he wanted when he posted was a single used one at a good price.
They all do exactly the same thing and IMHO none are better than any other. I think it's a matter of what you think looks cool bolted on the car since the mounts are different from each manufacturer.
Technically you could use a 2 x 4 with mounting brackets and have a strut brace as stiff and effective as my titanium one.

It's never a good idea to stop the flow of knowledge. The more information the better. Just ask Jimmy Hoffa's social secretary.
Geez.............I didn't say it wasn't interesting and wasn't good information..........I made the comment because of the many strut brace threads (498) already in the 993 forum.
And whether you believe it or not, a 2 x 4 would work if attached correctly...........and chaoscreature is correct about it not passing tech.........LOL

Here is a factory (race department) strut brace made for the earlier generation of 911. I think all they had to do was tailor new standoffs and then adjust the length. These are made of aluminum, and are nicely painted. Were not cheap. (Got mine at the factory race parts department many years ago).
I have the genuine ruf one for 993 ive never fitted. Has the ruf 993 part number stamped on the "shoulders" and their 964 part number on the rod. Was taken off a genuine factory 993 BTR2. Makes me wonder what its worth!
