Wow, I just read about this specific Glöckler in the June Panorama. What a great car.

I might have to come down and visit with all of you. Afterall it is only a 1 hour drive. And I could visit with my other Umlaute buddy "Jäger".

OT: I am in Germany right now. Visiting the Porsche Museum next Sat. Any recommendations?
Probably won't be spending more than 3-4 hours in there. Otherwise the wife and kids will start rebelling.

Take as many photographs as you can of 993 Speedsters, starting with Butzi Porsche's. If you don't see any, demand to see the factory's restoration shop. If there are none there: barge through closed doors with camera.

If that fails, drive to Alois Ruf's & repeat. As necessary, ask to see Mark Porsche's 993 Speedster. (Notice the Porsche family trend?)
...then report back here. Guaranteed recipe for an exciting tour

Glockler photo I took last year, at Carmel's Concours by the Sea. (Owned by friends of RJT's, of course.) From the "Monterey '09 photo thread: Laguna, Pebble, Quail, etc":

We booked our hotel - will be driving the 951 up from Vegas (its not good to keep the 993 in Vegas with the extreeeeeme heat).

I'll be in a nice little convoy of friends (couple of Porsche's, Ferrari & Lambo's... Looking forward to meeting a few of you finally. We will be hanging out in Monterrey & attending the Quail, Concorso and Laguna Seca (Corral).

Keep an eye out for my 951 & if you are going to be there please PM me:

To park in / attend the Porsche corral, you will need to register and pay.

They appear to be using https://www.motorsportreg.com for pre registration. In addition to this you will need track tickets (but not parking) too.

To get a close up look at the cars you'll want to be on Ocean Ave in Carmel because that's where they'll be stopped. A roadside spot on the 17 mile loop would work too but you'll just get glimpses of them passing by. I'm not sure what percent participate in the tour but certainly not all as there are usually a bunch of prototypes and one-offs that don't make the drive.

Where did you see that Concours on the Avenue in Carmel on Tuesday has been cancelled? I still see it promoted on several sites. Thanks for any info you may have.

Was cancelled on June 30th – understand sponsors dropped out. Latest word is a three or four hour three block car display – no judging, no perts, would be 10 or 11am to 1pm.
