Default Do you dream 993?

I think about it all the time. If I hit the lotto what would I do my C4S?
Money no object, what would you build?
Me.

My 97 C4S
Body/interior
Full CF interior
leather wrap everything, alcantera on the rest.
TTS rear wheel vents
TT 3pc wheels
Moton shocks
Full cage
Full RS suspension, arms, spindles, bushings, motor mounts

Motor
Full 3.8 HC pistons
Ti rods
9M 4v heads
full MoTec, with coil on spark
RS manifold & intake
Euro gears
Quaffe LSD

Of course, then buy a real RS for the new garage, & pick up a perfect TTS to keep it company.

9M 3.8 engine, as much bhp as can be streetable
close ratio regear / LSD
aluminum gear shift and ebrake accent (in red -good luck eh)
18" BBS LM or RS-GT
Muffler upgrade (Fabspeed 200 cell cats / Fister Stage II)
short shift upgrade
built in radar detector

I'll pick away at some of these but others will have to wait

If money were no object, I'd arrange to ship the Dung Beetle back to Porsche's Classics Dept. and have it completely restored/rebuilt to 'as-new' specifications. Everything. Except cosmoline.

Then I'd find a beater 993 to flog!

I'm with Andreas, with a factory refresher trip. I'd buy that 747 air cargo pallet and ship it back to Germany. I'd then find a 993GT2 to drive around some of the featured roads of Europe on TopGear for a few months.

Great thread.

For my Midnight Blue/blue 95 (this is my favorite car EVER):

1. Send the motor to Colin @ 9M (I think we're going to see this a bunch) and build it to have a nice streetable, reliable 320-340 HP.

2. order a G50/32 gearbox from Porsche.

3. LWF/RS clutch

4. Install killer sereo that looks stock (stockish faceplate and speakers that fit in the factory HI-FI enclosures)

5. Refresh all body seals.

6. "Thicker" 3-spoke 996 whel in the correct blue, leather/aluminum shifter and e-brake again in blue (currently black and about to be swapped into the black 97).

7. RSD and new carpets (nothing wrong with the current ones but a fresh interior is always nice).

8. "Full Leather" treatment for the blue interior (dash, door panels, EVERYTHING).

9. Paint the seat backs Midnight Blue (already have heated sport seats).

10. Red seat belts.

11. Big Red brakes.

For the 97:

1. Again, send motor to Colin, this time for the full-house treatment (400HP would be just about right ).

2. G50/32 gearbox again.

3. LWF/RS clutch.

4. All-out suspension (pretty vague here but whatever the best overall setup for combinaion street/ a few DE days).

5. Speedlines with Michelin PSCs.

6. PCCBs (to compensate for the Speedlines' weight).

7. RS carpets, seats, door panels and steering wheel.

8. Decent stock looking stereo (the CDR 220 I have now is fine but it needs a speaker upgrade).

And the big one:

Take one tired 993 and build a car like 9Ms black RS/CS car but paint it Viper Green!

Then there's a Speedster to build (Turquoise), a real RS, a real GT2, of course I'd also need a Turbo, a C4S, a cab....................

Stealth 993,

Hey, it's not too late to send your letter into Santa!

Btw, I like your 3.8 upgrade along w/ the Euro gears. Those would be my choices.

I dunno guys, I might be the only one but I'm quite content with what I already have:

Silver C4S with Euro front & rear bumpers, turbo S lip and brake ducts/fog lights. OEM Litronics were added by the PO.
The interior is dark blue and already has the 996 3-spoke steering wheel, aluminum shift ****, E-brake, pedals, etc.
The engine has 100K miles on it but it pulls really hard and the PPI showed excellent leak down numbers so I'd leave it alone. The tranny has an RS clutch, GT3 PP, and a LWF.
In terms of suspension, the car has PSS9s, RS front sway bar and TRG rear.
The wheels are OEM hollow spokes with flat black centers.
It comes with Big Reds from the factory.

In other words, I'm pretty happy with what I've got

Blasphomy!!!!!!

In reality I'd like one too Noah. 2010 C2S, GR/black, 6-speed, full-leather, folding sport buckets, all the audio "stuff," red stitching, sport-PASM, and PCCBs.

Of course this is in addition to my 993 wishlist (and a CGT, GT2/3/3RS, 458, 599........I'm sick).

I always think what I would build if money was no object, here is what I would do to mine..

Engine/Transmission:

9m 4 litre (450hp) what is in Colins RSCS Motec....etc.
Associated headers, exhaust etc all black ceramic coated center outlet like GT3
g50/30 (cup trans)
Solid engine mounts and trans mounts

Suspension / Brakes / Wheels:
GT2 Uprights
ERP / Tarett / Mode components
Solid side mounts
KW Race coilovers
Brembo GTR Kit forged calipers etc - 355 x 34 Front 355 x 32 rears
Would stick with my current forgelines up the size 9.5 x 18 front 11 x 18 rear

Body:
Full CF RSR treatment including:
RSCS Rear wing
rear Engine Lid
Front Hood
Side Skirts
CF Fenders
CF GT2 front splitter
CF front and rear bumpers
CF Fender extensions (RSR not GT2)
Have the car dipped, seam welden and complete CrMo roll cage (hidden like ruf)

Interior:
Current seats
Full rennline package: Track mats, lower dash, radio delete, airbag delete etc
Alcantara dash and RS door panels, manual winders in doors.
Motec ADL Dash, GPS and Video fully integrated.
All sound deadening removed and wiring concealed.

it would look something like this:

Yeah, because we all know your car is in such a sad state. It might have a shot at concourse but you'd definitely never be able to claim "as-new" status.

If money were no object, I'll sell whatever I have at the time and buy a 73 911RS, a 964RS, a 993RS and an MK2 GT3RS. Then I'd pick up a used 7TT as a daily.

+1 but why restrict your self? I'd be into a 997 GT3RS ASAP, but would keep my 993... for sure!

I'd stick my 96 993 for sale on Rennlist and buy one of these - a cute little TT-S car

I own my dream car, I really do in my mind. I wouldn't add anything else or delete anything. I built(refinished) it the way I always dreamed it could be.

If money were no object, I'd build a McLaren F1.

That said, I have to say that I am really unbelievably happy with my current car, how it is set up and how it drives. It's made an average driver like me look pretty good.

If I had bags of money, I might make ,my 993 into a 993 GT2 clone and run in the GT class. But there are not many people in the class, meaning that the wins are kind of hollow.
