Are you installing a "rear seat delete" kit in the rear or just going with RS carpeting? If the former, did you manage to hook up the solenoid locks for the RSD bin doors into the central locking system?
My RSD kit has the lock and the solenoid, but is missing the wiring harness and I have no idea how it plugs into the central locking system
(P.S. I think this car needs flame graphics as well as the Vespa )

We don't generally get cabrio's with rear seat bins so I'm not sure I can be of much help, however with respect to the standard central locking function, if the bins have solenoids you can link them in to the trigger for the passenger side door which operates as a slave unit with reversing polarity on the two wires for close/open function. If the lock releases are mini servo motors it may get more complicated.
As for the Vespa, it's now got graphics - but no flames!

... and here's the result of the last two days of Marc's work after he has made & fitted the central locking system, modifying the inner door frames to fit the new 993 inner door panels and modified the speaker housings that would have been cut in half by the drop glass movement if left standard.
Hm. I'm guessing he's going with the silver/pewter accent color, at least that's what I'd do after looking at all the pictures and variants.... I know, another wheel opinion (whistle, shuffle feet, look at ceiling) ....

Looking good now for the drive home on Saturday - car is now fully insured, Road Tax /Duty paid, my Private Plate (Vanity number!) transferred over.
Just hope the weather holds out - it's now drizzling outside and the forecast for the Bank Holiday weekend is 'mixed'!
I might just get to check the 'emergency roof' sooner than I plannned!
Oh - those RS wheels - I wonder what they would look like polished rims with painted ........................!
No standard silver Turbo Twists for the time being.

I wonder, will this thread hit the 50,000 mark by the time the car's collected?

So, the actual answer is that the door modifications are a 50% Speedster thing and a 50% 993 vs 964 thing.....

PDI checks have been completed, wheels repainted & refitted so now it's having a full inside/outside valet & polish ready for collection day tomorrow. The seats will obviously be fitted once the interior is fully cleaned.
Not long now....

Will do, don't worry. I'll follow up with more shots of the seats today, then once the valeting is done we'll set it up mid workshop and shoot a few more, but also expect to see a bumper edition of photos from tomorrow's launch party.
Oh, and Graham's also got a photo shoot organised for the middle of next week with Stuart from GT Purely Porsche, so a magazine article will be on the way soon as well.

Cheers Jim.
At the time we started the job I never thought we ever be up and over 50k hits, only goes to show how much current interest there is in the 993 Speedster, probably courtesy of Jäger paving the way with his red one.
I know what you mean about a sense of loss, I'm going to miss the fun of keeping you all up to date with the progress - somehow I don't think the ongoing 9m Vespa projects are going to be much of a substitute.
