Friday @ Monterey, CA's The Quail, Speedy made friends with another 997 Speedster...
but please, don't tell anyone It was a viewing of two Speedsters that "don't exist":
993 (as Excellence titled their Apr 2010 feature, "One of None") Guards Red 997 (only advertised in Carrera White & Pure Blue)
Black, white, etc. were popular for previous 911 Speedsters; but does anyone consider Guards Red as the classic Speedster hue?
Many iconic 1989 Speedster photos featured Guards Red. Even now, Porsche chose a red Speedster to advertise their newest model...
Walter Röhrl driving the '89 in these 997 Speedster press shots:
Back to more pics later of the ultra-rare red 997 Speedster at Monterey's The Quail, & of the world's first-ever line-up representing all of Porsche's Speedsters (356/ 1989/ 964/ 993/ 997) at Dana Point, CA.
Right now, want to praise RLers who send me links to websites around the world where Speedy pops up, featured by fellow fans. For example, a RLer recently sent a prominent Facebook page that was a nice surprise.
Also fun to stumble across similar sites...
For the past two years, the red rocket's been hand-picked to appear in Gordon McCall's Jet Center Party during Monterey, CA's car week. Likewise for two years in a row, I've stumbled across the enthusiasts of teamSpeedy -- er, teamSpeed.com -- giving some luv!
Teamspeed.com was on hand for the 2011 McCall Motorworks Revival represented by member and photographer Stephan Bauer. The famous McCall’s private airport party, now in its twentieth year, is the must attend kick off for the entire Monterey car week festivities
Iconic brands supported the elegant evening including Breitling, Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, Pagani, and Porsche, and state of the art corporate aircraft from aviation leaders Bombardier, Embraer, Gulfstream, Piaggio, Pilatus.

Jäger, I have to make a small compliment, every time, when I see the silhouette of the car in your avatar, I think it fits perfectly to your Speedy! Just reduced to the main-lines of the car!
Marc-- It was time for a 993 Speedster icon!
I think the outline of Porsches, & especially 911s, connect better than any other marquee.
Hence the following sampling of silhouettes that communicate so well.
Two aren't 911s, but we still recognize them quickly know what they are...

Marc-- That means a lot coming from a fellow 993 Speedster owner.
It also means a lot that RLer Magdaddy likes it -- he's the genius who shared the original design for a 993 coupe
I tweaked it to what you see now...
Good 'ol Rennlist teamwork!!!
This is from the U.S. debuts of Lamborghini's Adventador & Hennessey's Venom.
The resulting photo's rated at 3,000 horsepower, & that's before you consider the Hennesy Boss 302 HPE650 (650 hp), the Venom (1,200), or the Adventador (700 hp), much less the jets:
...that's simply due to the talent of photographer RLer EB847
