Had my first real 993 problem
In 2 years with 2 993's nothing has gone wrong with either. Well, I've had to replace 3 set of tires, & of course do maintaince.
In my 95 C4 just this last week my HVAC has been acting up. It will not blow air out of the vents unless the heat is all the way on full. We have had weather in the 85+ deg all week. No very comfortable. After reading the archives, it looked like my CCU was going out. Having 2 993's here really helped me out. I swapped the one from my C4 to Scarlet, well, everything worked there, back in the C4, same problem.
Back to the archives, oh, there is a servo that gets stuck. This time, I pulled out my Durmetric computer on the car, I get a code "24 fresh air something" Oh, it's the servo motor, or it's stuck. After pulling it out, cleaning it & putting it back in. yes in fact the fresh air servo motor was bad.
My local finest wants $377 for a new one, that's wholesale!!! Of course it's out of stock & will take a week to get here. What to do, I need some dam fresh air!!
Well, I removed the servo, opened it up, switched it over to the open position, & put it back in. Now I have AC, warm air, & most of all, the vents blow air!!!
Total cost...
$0, just a hour working on the car, & about 20min going through the archives!! I'll get the part from pelician, or some other cheaper place.

There's been a couple of 993's being parted out here lately. One of the guys is here in Portland & the other is ViperBob I think, you should check with them first.

Maybe you have some other issue. I had some stuck flaps in the footwell once. If you hit them hard in the right place they start working again!

Hm. Even w/ the recirc button pushed? I removed my fresh air flap servo, saw it was fried, and just manually closed the flap. One day I'll get around to replacing it, but it's not been a problem.

No, not yet. Funny thing is, Larson was almost $100 less then Barrier. I'm not going to worry about it for a little bit. The car is working fine, maybe in the fall when I don't want cold air to enter the car.

Does it rain much in Tacoma?
Summer, windows down, winter windows up, problem solved except when it rains . . .
In a past 951, I had a fan switch (when it got hot outside) that would only work on high (4). $480 for the new module, I got use to off and high in the summer . . .
Just finished 3-days NNJR PCA DE event (what a blast and well run), overheard in the paddock, this DE stuff is like crack cocaine, I said no it is not, crack is cheaper!
