MY '02 Wheels

Thanks m-cat, that's kinda what I thought too.
By the way, I am originally from the Seattle area, relocated to Texas 1990 and I can say I honestly have not missed the rain! It's not as pretty down here though...
Thanks for the info, good luck in your hunt for some wheels!

Anyway, you're welcome, and thanks for the well-wishes.

Drifting
Did my due diligence and passed. "ps. sold" referred to someone (not me) on sixspeedonline bought them.
As I said in my earlier post, someone's "perfect" might not be your version of "perfect". If you claim perfect and later tell me about the weld repair (ok, I was at least told about it, but after multiple email exchanges) and the pics show the outer edge isn't perfectly round...
Buyer Beware. Demand full pics of wheels, both sides.

I didn't get either set... The seller on the eBay one wouldn't stand behind their wheels AT ALL, which I found rather absurd considering the price they were asking. As far as those black ones go, I want glossy black, not flat, and I'm weary about purchasing "pre-powdercoated" wheels, as the powdercoating could be hiding surprises. I'm bring patient, and am sure the right set will come along

i'll be rolling through cali in a week or so on my road trip home, if you want... it's a new car (to me) and i haven't seen the wheels yet in person, but they are my02s. you can check them out all you want if schedules and cities line up. i'm gonna go against the grain as i have my heart set on bbs meshies, or some kinesis... so these will be up for grabs in a bit (if not right then and there)
shunnnn the n00b. shunnn. take advantage now before i wise up (?)

THe price...
seems fair. Be certain that the seller guarantees these wheels are straight and true. They are cast aluminum and can be bent with road trauma. Replacement one of wheels can be hard to find in the event you need to replace a bent wheel.
The Porsche factory MY 2002 996 wheels were made for Porsche by BBS. They are nice and light. I believe they weigh less than the Turbo hollow wheels.
I was trying to sell a set about a month ago..no real serious offers close to my asking price...about $1,500 as I recall, and the wheels were refinished to new, had 0 miles after the refinish and I was including new center caps...I decided to keep them and use them as track wheels...glad that I did. I paid $1,400 for them, spent $200 on the refinish + the cost of the new center caps...oh well, lose on every deal but make it up in volume
Tire Rack sells some very inexpensive wheels that look great...and they are a Rennlist sponsor!

Rodney:
I wholeheartedly agree that MY'02 rims look best on an NB 993. Also, +1 on the 50 & 65mm offsets.
Here's a couple of pics of mine, which have been painted Polar Silver;
Cheers,
Paul.

Caveat Emptor
Be certain to have the wheels checked to be straight and true, meeting factory specs. These wheels are great...they can be bent so be careful.
I will never buy a used wheel with tires on it. It makes it impossible to look for repairs such as welds.
I have two sets of these MY 2002 996 wheels; love them.
