Three Wheelin'
Our story is similar to yours... My wife and I have been trying to conceive for over 10 years. Doctor visists, surgery, fertility potions and finally IVF, through it all she was a hero. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, but we are now 7 months pregnant and over the moon about it! A little girl is due late May-early June. Congrats my friend.

Way to go! My brother and his wife took 7 years to pregnant but good things come to those that wait. Enjoy the ride, it goes very slowly when you are in the middle of sleepless nights, diapers etc but at the same time it zooms right past.
One friend gave me a some great advice. "don't wish away any stage of childhood because it passes so quickly" Walking , talking will all come in good time.
Congrats again.

Hey buddy! I'm late to this thread, but I'm super glad for you (like I've said before). I can't wait to have more reasons to hang out!!!
Like Chris and several others know, we had a tough time for a while too. My wife was pregnant with our first baby and ended up losing it in February of last year at 16 weeks. Without getting too melodramatic, it was horrible. The worst thing we've both ever experienced. Turns out that she had massive fibroid tumors that are thought to be the cause. After her fibroid tumors were removed, the doctor told us we had a small window in which to get pregnant. We weren't too confident though. Well, we did it. And on April 8th at 12:30pm, we will finally be parents! (she's having a C-section) It's a little daunting, but I'm really anxious to meet our kid! We don't know if it's a boy or a girl, so there's a lot of green and yellow going on in the house right now. OK, sorry for the hijack... ANYWAY....
Chris, I'm glad for you and Pam, and I am also glad that we will both have someone to share our experiences with online and in the YL! Best of luck to you both and I'm sure we'll be in touch soon.

Outstanding! Your life will never be the same (in a good way). Having a child (I have a 2.5 yr daughter) really helps put things in perspective and will make more you selfless for sure.
PS - I'm really impressed with our Recaro Young Sport seat.

Just reading about all your trials and tribulations to have your first and there's that "Octo-Mom" popping out eight like she's having a litter of puppies...and already had 6 at home! Go figure. Really happy for you. I never had the joy of having my own but have 2 wonderful step-sons who are like younger brothers and 4 grand-kids. Life is good!
