Marc-- Thanks for the insight into your rare wheels! Hard to go wrong with the 993 Cabriolet door panels, & the 993-appropriate seats
Great to see you customizing your exotic ride to your exact desires.
I've said it before, & I'll gladly repeat:
Fascinating to see RLers meticulously design Speedsters that are so deeply thought-out, & yet so different. Great reflection of each owner.
Looking great; now enjoy the drive
P.S. Just sent you a PM about one aspect I think you're already looking into; a small offer of potential help ... that you may have already located, anyway

Seinfeld's sold
Aug 2010: Mr. Seinfeld's broker calls while Speedy's on display at McCall's Jet Center Party to ask what other Monterey Car Week events we might rendezvous at.
I ask about Jerry's Speedster. He says it just sold, but requests I keep quiet.
Nov 2011: He OKs it for public discussion.
So ... "Tawk amongst yourselves"

A friend fund a new 993 Speedster last night. The car is based on a 993, the top is from a 911G-Speedster and it's located in NY!

Hello Jäger,
this thread makes me really hungry for an own 993 Speedster project...! I´m just planning something with the Porsche Factory in Zuffenhausen. I made many contacts in the factory with my Speedster-Book project. The support was awesome. So many friendly people working there! We´ll see what happens...!
The book only excists in German language. The most interesting chapter for the readers of this thread should be the one "993-Speedster".
I got some news from the factory, which maybe not everybody knows:
The 993 Speedster for F.A Porsche was a cooperation between the "Porsche-Studio" and "Porsche Weissach". The colour of Butzi´s 993 Speedster is "aventura-green-metallic". It has a "Tiptronic-S" and 272PS.
Ottokar Jacobs (Collector of Porsche Sportscars) had an interview with F.A Porsche, and Butzi was quite sad that the 993 Speedster never got into official production. He liked the 993 Speedster-Design very much.
The 993 Speedster was never produced by Porsche, because there was no capacity. Porsche nearly couldn´t handle the normal oders for 993 Coupé, targa and Convertible, because the 993 sold so well!
In 1995 they were also just preparing the new Porsche Boxster and the Porsche 996. Without these cars Porsche wouldn´t excist today, I´m sure.
But you shouldn´t be too sad, because there excist these fascinating cars by Jäger, JohnC, Marc C. and many others. Even if they are not official cars, the quality of Freisinger or 9m should be good enough.
have a nice weekend,
Andreas
