OH YEAH! Pretty big news: someone I consider a Rennlist celebrity just e-mailed (from elsewhere than the USA - hint?) & says he's going forward soon with his 993 Speedster build. We'll see ... but I'm already excited -- part of that world beautification thing, one 993 Speedster at a time.
He's one of the lurkers that has contacted me a couple times, but hasn't officially gone public yet.
Yes, there are more out there with the sickness!!!

Any chance you know how much was spent on just the factory parts needed to do the conversion....I have a MY94 white cab that would make a nice 993 speedster, along with a TPC kit and conversion to manual

Thanks Jager, P.m. sent. Which magazines/month will your car be featured in? I'd like to look for them.

Geo-- Rare find -- 964 RS seats customized & for sale. Recovered & possibly repainted. £700 (~$1,150 USD). No affiliation.
Thanks for sharing; hopefully helpful for someone searching.

David-- Glad to hear you're a contender!
Pricing estimates begin on page 3. Best if Graham P (& 2 other unnamed RLers starting Speedster part acquisition) gave their recent experiences.

I hope you (&/or Jon Paul?) have white Speedsters to share here soon

Thanks for asking, & to the RLer who shared this thread:

If you go here...

... & click the red 993 Speedster, currently featured under 'Porsche News' for the "993 Speedster Turbo Bodied - Gorgeous" thread ...

...you'll see Total 911 Editor In Chief & RLer Phil Raby's update on page 5:

Excellence Magazine shot their feature in Sep; photographed & authored by a fellow RLer. Editor Peter Stout e-mailed recently: it's scheduled for his Apr '10 issue.

Anyone confirm when Excellence last featured a 993 as the primary Porsche on their cover? I'm told it's been years.
If true, it may take quite an effort, but RLers relaying their desire to Pete to see Speedy as the dominant cover car would be ... excellent

Total 911's photography was shot in Oct. Authored by a fellow Rennlister. Should be published in issue #57 (Jan).

Regardless, the whole jounrey with Speedy has already been better than I ever imagined.
Big thanks to friends (RLers & otherwise) who helped get her into print. Her entire story's been a team effort

Thanks for the info, Jager, I already get Excellence and I'll look for Total 911 #57 over the next few weeks.

Thanks, White isn't my top choice, but a good one. I sent you a p.m. Thursday evening asking for info on where your car was originally converted. If I could get that info this weekend, it would be a HUGE help to me as I gather information on my research trip south on Monday.
Thanks, JP

^^ Jon Paul-- VERY EXCITED for you You're asking all the right questions. Thanks to your painstaking research, the result will be beautiful.

Got both of your recent PMs. A second thorough response on the way to you soon.

In the meantime, enjoy...

JPP-- Very well done Good research on 993 Speedsters

I've seen the wheels you refer to: same 911, but with different shoes (& license plate).
