When did you first know you had to have a 911?

1992, my dad's good friend had just traded his Ferrari 348TB for a brand new 964 Carrera 2 tiptronic. Saw it, went down to the local model car shop the following day and bought a Minichamps model of the car.... I used to polish that 1/43 scale model like it was a real car.
1995, bought my first 911, a 1985 3.2 Carrera. Now I am on my 7th 911, (having also been through some Italian machinery), and will never be without a 911....

In 1987. I bought a 1978 SC Coupe instead of my 1st house. That same car is worth nearly zero today. The house I was considering has literally increased in value 10 times the 1987 price. ![banghead](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/banghead.gif)
The 1978 SC Coupe was a piece of crap and a major money pit.
I loved it!

In 1974 I was given a ride by a friend's older brother in his 912. He wound that car out so high I was frightened. I expected to hear some sickening noise followed by something close to silence out of the engine bay. I think if it was an American car back then that is exactly what would have occured. I knew then that these cars were put together especially well. It was news to me.
