Brake pads/rotors
Hello all,
It's time for a complete brake job on my 993. I'm going to do it myself (never done this before) and I need to go ahead and order parts. I'm going to do Zimmerman cross drilled rotors and Pagid pads.
Can someone point me in the right direcion on part #'s and where to order from - I'm in Atlanta.
many thanks!

Do you track the car? Great pad, cheap rotor. If no track time or very limited (or none) just go with factory parts (Textar pads/O.E. rotors). Pagids will squeal like a bitch and wear the rotors alot quicker (but the noise will get to you first

Here's the Original Porsche Parts (Textar, etc.) list for everything but the anti-squeal spiders. I didn't put those back in when I did my brakes. If you haven't already got a Motive pressure bleeder, I've got one you're welcome to borrow if you don't mind the drive up GA 400.
A lot of folks here order from Sunset Porsche. Their prices are significantly better than any Atlanta dealership. I ordered from Sucoast Porsche in Sarasota (Talk to Rick Knab) and their prices were very close to Sunset (which I didn't know about when I ordered my parts) and were hundreds of dollars better than Atlanta dealerships (There's a comparison posted somwhere under my handle).
Here's the list:
993-351-043-01 BRAKE DISC (1)
993-351-044-01 BRAKE DISC(1)
993-352-041-02 BRAKE DISC (2)
993-351-939-01 BRAKE PAD SET (1)
965-352-939-04 BRAKE PAD SET (1)
999-067-041-09 SCKT SCREW 12 (4)
900-378-068-09 HXHD SCREW 12 (4)
Good luck!

Question (and probably a dumb one) - Why are two of the brake discs different part #'s and two are the same?
I'll definitely stay away from Zimmermans - I don't track the car and don't plan to... I do drive moderately aggresive although probably not compared to alot of the guys here. My goal is to have very good stopping power and minimal dust/squeal.

The front rotors are side-specific while the rears are interchangeable.
Another vote for Sunset

JC,
One other thing about parts....When I did my brakes, I removed the brake pad sensors and tied them off. If you are going to maintain the stock set-up you may need to order those sensors. Some folks here have posted that they have been able to re-use the existing sensors while others have had problems doing so.
I had planned to do away with mine all along, but out of curiousity tried to remove them intact....It was impossible and I destroyed them getting them out.
Also, I have a set of four good jack stands if you need them.

I just ordered a steering rack brace from Sunset, and asked if they wanted my PCA membership number. They said no, they have a better deal. They sell parts at 15% over wholesale
