Very nice garage! I'm doing some planning for my 24x26 which will be built this year. I like your ridge beam roof design as I need the height for a lift but don't want 10+ walls. What is the roof slope and beam sizes? Do you have a pic of where the roof meets the wall? It looks like the roof beams are notched. Much appreciated if you have the time to post.

Don't know the slope but the main beam that runs down the center of the garage is laminated veener lumber I think it's 2" x 10" but really don't remember for sure. All the headers are also that LVL material.

The 2"x8" wood used in the roof are notched where they meet the walls. They also have these metal bracket on them that are required by code which deals with hurricane protection.

Its a std hand framed roof as opposed to engineered trusses, without measuring looks about an 8:12 pitch, the notches are called "birds mouth" .

Matt,

When I was up in the storage area I measure the LVL beam and it's almost 2" thick and 16" wide.

That sounds better (and more expensive).

Finallly finished painting. Hopefully they will put in garage door tomorrow.

Next will be tiling bathroom then sink and surrond, then probably epoxy floor unless I change my mind and decide on something else.

Garage door and operator installed today. Photos below. One of the photos shows guys using a portable band saw to cut off the extra track.

The garage is only 24' wide by 26' deep. I call it a one car garage since it has but one door. Also our restrictive covenants and applicable zoning ordinanes only allow at a maximam a three car garage. Since I already have an attached two car garage I was only allowed to built another one car garage.

My detached one car garage is designed to have a lift in the center, that part of the ceiling is about 10' wide and 14' tall so I can put one car under the other if need be. The rest of the space is for tools workbenches and other garage stuff.

Nice solution. One 'super-duper ginormous' garage. Love it!

I'm thinking of extending the tracks on my garage also so that I can fully extend a four post. I was thinking of getting a commercial rolling garage door but after seeing your garage door I think extending my tracks is a more economical solution.

I was thinking about this too... I have 6 - 7 feet above my garage doors that I'd love to put to some use, but it rolls back right in the middle there.

Great looking garage! I am super jealous.

Installed full range of motion television mount that can hold 30" to 55" tv. Every garage needs one of these with a tv of course which I've yet to buy.
