If I were you I would regear the trans.

1) supercharger
2) buy a tt
3) spend a lot of $$ on a creative NA rebuild
I am leaning twds your cat + chip setup for now. Do you have lpmm mod or not? Might not need it with the freer flowing cats.

Marlon, you should read this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-forum/292420-100-cel-cat-question.html

in particular, Colin's post here: https://rennlist.com/forums/showpost...8&postcount=65

It's interesting that Colin says that mufflers don't affect power a bit, but split 100 cell cats are essential.

Rally - Thanks very much! However I mentioned the mufflers from a 'noise' perspective only. Don;t want to be too loud. I used to swap a test pipe back & forth on my SC's and 3.2 and it was pretty amazing the deeper tone w/o the cat. If I go to a Dach X I'm thinking about NOT doing the LPMM mod.

If I go to a Dach X
Yet another topic to read up on: split flow vs X pipe.

I already have the Rennsport chip so what will the cats add? Also I see there are 100 cell, 200 cell with 100 being less restrictive I take it? Will I pass emissions with either of these?

Or would the result be too 'weak' to justify cost and aggravation? Could 200 cell cats (DachX) be used instead? Or does it make more sense to merely go with a Steve Weiner chip & Dach X? Or maybe a chip & Dach X followed by heads later??? Seems like even a stock 993 would have the brakes and suspension to accomodate another 15-20 ft lbs. But given the trend & cost of benzine lately it might not make any sense at all. And the beat goes on...
A 993 non-varioram remap on its own would probably see 295hp, however just last week we remapped a stock 95 993 with split flow cat bypasses and the little beaut made 305hp, about the same as I would expect from 100 cell cats. If we fitted a 9m Sport cam package the same engine would pump out 320hp, add the 9m billet heads as well and it would be up at 350hp.

To date we have not tried our heads with standard cams but my guess is that with the compromise of 993RS cams you would lose around 15hp and be around the 330-340hp level.

You also mentioned the cost of fuel. Robin Page, who had the first 9m Varioram billet/cam/cat/remap package, reported a 10% reduction (improvement) in fuel consumption following his engine conversion - which was significant for him as he was doing around 500 miles a week at that time. Incidentally this car was converted 2 years ago and to date other than routine maintainence we have not touched the engine.
