The differences are at most 100-200 N and the tolerances are spec'ed +- 4%. I can't find anything from Porsche documenting this for the 993 but it follows the exact same pattern and I think it makes sense (the loaded spring height is dependent on the spring rate, right?) . For the 996 the system was changed to a color only system.
If someone has access to the mechanics training materials that were given out during training in Reno the tolerance groups might be documented in them? Similar manuals for the 964 cover material not in the workshop manuals or the service Techniks, etc.

Thanks Jason for the info.
I will look into it more very soon next time I will be in germany blunting criticism with a smile, and will keep you posted.
M030 springs with brown 1 dot, 2 dots, 3 dots.
Different rear shims for 1 dot, 2 dot, 3 dots. in the workshop manual.

Show me in the manual, etc where it shows that there is a race version of the spring. Better yet find all three varieties of springs and lets measure them to see if there is any difference between them (not just size but lb/inch, etc).
He has posted info (not just this thread) that is factually incorrect.

I see that you are well informed, fountain of wit, I have had a 993 for less than a few months.

While he is a hillbilly, he is far from primitive.
He has had a 993 for less than a few months.
He did have a previous 993, which he usually drove to a podium finish.

And what would that be?

When was I rude or called you names. I guess it is true what they say about the french. Just because I am not from France doesn't make me primitive, and I may be from the south but unlike most hillbillys I have all my teeth.
Unleased me? My only issue is that what you are saying needs to be back up with facts, not hearsay. I have owned a 993 and been on this board, and the previous versions of rennlist and porsche list for almost 10 years.
Are you physically threatening me?
The only thing I have asked for is proof? Is that rude? Sounds like you need to thicken up your skin a bit.
You specifically stated that the Turbo (there is no 993TT) it is simply a 993 Turbo, has a seam welded reinforced chassis and it does not.

I share Greg's thoughts. I also agree with Mike in Chi on his assessment of Greg.

Not to take this off topic, but I noticed you have a gt3. I was talking with my dealer
today about mine. I was wondering what the four little openings on the roof line were. two on the front and two toward the rear. I am sure yours has them.
anyway. My dealer told me they aid in cooling. they collect rainwater, and dew...and funnel it back to the engine, proving extra cooling. Porsche really thought of everything. don't you agree?

I've been thinking about this.
I don't think Greg is a hillbilly (Guillaume de colline). I think he just talks funny.

"...I was wondering what the four little openings on the roof line were..."
Fill,
Well, I am sure that your dealer told you this, as my dealer told me that as well. But I degress, as I am also sure you could use those little openings for lots of other things. Like a cooler attachment for a tailgater party at a primitive hilbilly sporting event, or perhaps a mounting device for spring compressors.
Nevertheless, its the taillight gap on a gt3 that provides most of the cooling to my understanding.
