Very interesting thread -

Can anyone decode the following springs?

Front Red - two spots
Rear Purple - two spots

RoW base front & rear, based on Geolabs and info I am guessing the rear uses the 5.5 mm rear spacers

they actually call the rear color violet

Bill, thanks for your reply. I am planning to install HDs and keep the Euro springs - should the rear spacers be removed?

All right, Geo. You are correct on my misreading the post. I "thought" you were implying that the stiffened TT,RS,GT3 would suffer from a stiffer suspension because of the lightening ...guess I read that wrong; I get your post now. Not to mention I was in a bit of a contentious mood when I wrote that as I had a long a$$ day and had not eaten dinner yet. So my apologies for the tone

Now as for the issue at hand, the one thing I was poking fun at was the guy at the shop who said that the car would rattle apart (so to speak) with the stiffer springs. My comments regarding the mildly stiffer spring rate of M030 over stock rate is that it will NOT in any way result in "rattling" the chassis. Sure I was being sarcastic, but the reality is that there are just too many owners who have installed considerably stiffer springs (witness H&R, PSS9, Moton, JIC, to name a few) with very satisfying results. I just found the dealer guy's comments humorous ...that's all. Sure he's entitled to his opinion on ride compliance, but "rattle" ...I don't think so. Oh well, just thought I'd clear that up. Best of luck on the "dots" point. And yes, I'm skeptical on that one, as well. Take care

the spacers are used for setting ride height inthe back, so which is used depends on the desired height.

If you go w/ the fully threaded Bilstein hds, then you won't be using the spacers, the whole shebang is removed as pictured here

I don't have Bilsteins but I assume they supply spring perches for the stock springs

I wished it was like the good ole' days with Addison, Viken, Viper Bob, etc... chiming in. Thanks Greg and Phil for your input..... So, I take it that the number of brown marks for the rear M030's are irrelevent... I am in the middle of a dispute witih StrasseUSA.Com in returning the wrong rear springs and today is the day that they will be shipping my RoW M030's with whatever number of brown marks for the rear.

Sorry Gert, I learned my lesson........

Jonathan,
The part number is what matters. double check those before you install, what springs did they send you?

Greg,
The guys at StrasseUSA.com had the right part numbers on the outside of the wrap but the color on the springs were Lilac. I thought it looked suspicious since the label was not a Porsche label. I just got a call from them saying that they have the right part number and it had only 1 brown mark. I told them to ship it to me. Thanks for your help! This would have driven me crazy! I called both Rennsouth and local Porsche stealership.. they had no idea what I was talking about.

Sorry Bill, my statement was not to insult anyone. When I first joined this site, there was a lot of on-hand experience and solid expertise instead of "I heard this and that...."

Actually Bill, considering the quality and accuracy of your posts, I consider you to be a part of the RL icon group

Nor is this meant to be an insult to anyone.

I do find a lot of questionable info being passed on as fact. In the past it was challenged by the likes of the V's.

Yes there are still many knowledgable people here. But I miss Viken and others.
And their expertise and data bases.

So question the data and keep your mind open. I try to learn something daily, I am rarely disappointed
