Not really any difference to the sound - and since its basically a T weld joint, ID or OD again does not impact anything.

1.5 to 2.0 definitely is different though, I like the 2 more, its deeper and a bit louder.

Cheers,

Mike

I put on 100 Call Dansk Cats and Fister I's (same as LPMM with 2 inch pipes) and the sound is amazing. Very sharp bark at startup, deep raspy idle, and it screams under under acceleration, but no drone and not loud inside when cruising. Highly recommended

What a debt of gratitude we all owe to Leland Pate.

Hope he's having fun blowing stuff up, wherever he may be now.

Thanks for your opinion , I do find it a little contradictory , though it may simply be down to interpretation?

It's not contradictory at all. A 2" ID pipe vs. a 2"OD pipe has an ID difference of maybe 1/16th inch? You won't be able to tell the difference in sound on 1/16th inch. 1/2 inch however is discernible.

Thanks , for clearing it up. As mentioned , will mark it down to interpretation.

For anyone else chosing their pipe size - what internal diameter and outer diameter did you go for?

And what does Fister use? 2" ID or 2" OD...

Again - as I mentioned above - Not really any difference to the sound between 2ID and 2: OD - and since its basically a T weld joint, ID or OD again does not impact anything.

1.5 to 2.0 definitely is different though, I like the 2 more, its deeper and a bit louder.

1-3/4" for my TT cans. These will be my "Laguna pipes", as opposed to the bypass elbows that're on now.

I guess the concern is whether having it large (2" ID) will make it sound as if its blowing (has a hole in it)... and whether it affects any back pressure required by the car otherwise...

The way the system is designed, (opposing bank exhaust terminating at opposite end) , and after traveling through the cats and adj. piping, the diameter difference will actually only do more for sound. It's effect on back pressure is deminished pretty much at the point of the where the muffleres are being modified. I have straight exhaust with the bypass elbows, but the turbos handle all back pressure duties. :-)

Thanks OverBoosted28 , so thats a firm no !

From a few searches:

It seems some of you guys have even gone as big as 2.5"

The smallest appears to be 1.25"
