I can do another round of bare boards if we have at least 6 people commit.
I can't do assembly as it's too time consuming with a newborn in the house, but you may want to contact Chris Walrod to see if he is willing to assemble your bare board. I don't know if he has assembled for anyone, but seemed interested in doing this in the past.
So if I get >5 PMs with commitment to buy I'll publish the paypal account. collect funds, and order them up.
Thanks everyone.

I don't know where you are up to with these boards and I am new to the whole thing, so please forgive my lack of knowledge. In a perfect wolrld, I would like an assembled system with all the leads, software and whatever adaptors I need to plug into my 2006 laptop that runs XP with usb ports. I have a UK 1996 993 Targa, so I guess this means ROW connections.
My electronics knowledge is zero but I know a man who has the knowledge if needed.
I live in England, but my son lives in Denver, if this helps at all.
Where do I go from here to get this up and running on my beloved Targa?

Hi Stewart
I have built a couple of these, one for the PCGB 993 Register, other for me
What is on offer is a bare circuit board, you need to source all the components (switches, resistors, capacitors, diodes etc), assemble the PCB and wire it into a neat box with the car connector cable out one end, laptop serial cable out the other. Your 96 RoW Targa should have an OBD2 plug (shallow rectangle) rather than the round connector of earlier models, although the DME electronics is still OBD1 ..
I can supply you component lists and sources if you PM me - I can also copy you the article I wrote for Porsche Post and maybe a few pics if that would help ...
cheers, Maurice

I wish I could assemble for everyone, but we've got a three year old who would love to try soldering, and a five week old who is demanding a lot of attention.

Please go to the "ROUND 2" thread for instructions on how to send payment. The buy is a GO and I'm taking paypals now:
