Unhappy Burping oil

It was unusually hot here today. My C2S was sitting outside in the heat for most of the day. Drove home, parked in the garage. A half hour later I smelled that horrible odour of burning oil!!! Looked under the car and saw two small puddles of oil (one in front of the right rear tire and one behind). Upon further investigation it seems as though the source may be some where around the oil filling nozzle. Is there an over flow pipe that could be burping out some oil if the temps/pressures get too high?

What was your oil level when the engine was running? It is unsually hot isn't it?...this will cause the oil to expand more.

Cheers,

Mike

Horrible odour? LOL. I love that smell! Yeah the oil expands and if you filled her up completely when she was cold its gonna overflow. Happened to me once too many times. That is why changing the oil, filling up the last bottle should be done with the engine running at full warm temp...
BTW what a gorgeous day today! Mike you missed the German car show, 59 Porsche and 65 BMW + some Mercs and Audi's gathered at the North Shore. It was toasty but a nice event for sure!

Thanks for the help...guess I shouldn't be too concerned. I will monitor it over the next few days to see if it gets better.
